What really won me over, though, was how it balances that prime location with actual peace and quiet – once you’re inside, the street noise fades (mostly; high season in summer means you’ll hear the occasional accordion player busking till late). My room overlooked a narrow canal – not the Grand one, but this sleepy side waterway where delivery boats putter by in the morning, carrying crates of fresh produce that smell faintly of ripe tomatoes and salty lagoon air. The bed was comfy, with those crisp white linens that crinkle just right, and the bathroom, while compact (hey, it’s Venice – space is a luxury), had a rain shower that washed away the day’s humidity. Breakfast was simple but spot-on: croissants still warm from the oven, strong espresso, and views of passersby on the calle below. I wandered out to Rialto Bridge in under 10 minutes, grabbed arancini from a hole-in-the-wall on Campo San Bartolomeo – locals swear by it – and didn’t even think about parking, since, you know, cars aren’t a thing here. Oh, and a heads-up: no elevator, so pack light if stairs aren’t your friend, especially after a long flight.

All in all, if you’re chasing that real Venice vibe without the hefty price tag of those glitzy 5-stars on the piazza, this spot’s a gem. It’s the kind of place where you feel connected to the city – sipping wine on your balcony as the evening light turns the water golden, or ducking into quiet alleys when the day-trippers swarm. Sure, it gets busy around Carnevale, but book off-peak and it’s blissfully serene. I’d go back in a heartbeat; it’s not perfect, but it’s honest, and in a city like this, that’s what sticks with you.   The view was spectacular- literally a stones throw fron St Mark's. The bed was very comfortable and the room was luxurious. Bathroom was very small but pretty. Good airconditioning.

  The host was so great right from moment one. If we returned to Venice we would definitely stay here. The quality of the furniture, bedding, and bathroom presentation were high class.
