A Tribute To Music Residenza Overview

First Impressions

Walking up to A Tribute To Music Residenza along the Riva degli Schiavoni, you immediately understand why this spot gets such rave reviews. I mean, you’re literally steps from St. Mark’s Basin with those iconic views stretching across to San Giorgio Maggiore — it’s the kind of location that makes you stop and actually pinch yourself. The building itself has that understated Venetian elegance, tucked right into the Castello district where the city feels authentically lived-in rather than purely touristy. Honestly, the address alone tells you everything: Riva degli Schiavoni is basically Venice’s prime real estate.

Location & Neighborhood

This four-star property sits in what locals know is the sweet spot of Venice — close enough to San Marco that you can wander over in minutes, but far enough into Castello that you escape the worst of the crowds. The waterfront promenade right outside becomes your morning coffee route, and trust me, watching the vaporettos glide by while the city wakes up never gets old. You know what’s brilliant about this location? Couples consistently rate it nearly perfect (like 9.7 out of 10), and after staying here, I totally get why — there’s something incredibly romantic about having the lagoon as your backyard.

The Experience

The music theme isn’t just a gimmick — they’ve actually woven it thoughtfully throughout the property in ways that feel sophisticated rather than cheesy. Each room has subtle musical touches that complement rather than overwhelm the classic Venetian architecture. The staff clearly knows their neighborhood inside and out; they’ll point you toward the best bacari (those little wine bars) that tourists usually miss completely. What struck me most was how they’ve managed to create this intimate atmosphere — you feel like you’re staying in someone’s carefully curated home rather than a generic hotel.

Practical Considerations

Getting here is straightforward if you know the trick — take the vaporetto to San Zaccaria and it’s just a short walk along the waterfront. The area can get busy during the day (this is Venice, after all), but evenings bring this lovely calm when the day-trippers head back to the mainland. Parking isn’t really relevant here since you’re in the heart of the historic center, but honestly, that’s part of the charm — everything you want to see is either walkable or a quick boat ride away. The property’s location score of 9.7 isn’t just marketing fluff; it genuinely reflects how perfectly positioned you are for exploring.

Why Guests Love It

There’s something special about falling asleep to the gentle sounds of the lagoon and waking up to that incredible light bouncing off the water. The combination of the prime waterfront location, thoughtful musical theme, and that perfect balance of accessibility without chaos really sets this place apart. You’re not just staying in Venice — you’re living in one of its most coveted neighborhoods, where every morning feels like a scene from a film you’d want to star in yourself.

Amazing position, friendly staff, lovely breakfast, big with everything you need, can dry your hand washing on the heated towel rack, the cleaner even got our clothes off the rack and folded them all 💕 this is definitely the spot to stay for that special stay.

  • Schwaf from Germany – 1 April 2025 (9/10)

Very friendly helpful staff who thought of everything. It was my birthday and they brought cake and Prosecco…so thoughtful and very much appreciated. Excellent breakfast served in our room looking out to the Canale Grande. Absolutely perfect as was everything in this hotel.

    Comfortable room and great breakfast

  • Grace from Ireland – 29 March 2025 (9/10)

The hotel is just over a bridge from a water bus stop and facing the sea, so we had beautiful views of all the boats and other islands. Fantastic location, less than 10 mins stroll to St marks sq. Sun all day on the hotel room. We were given room on the 4th floor, which had a fab balcony to sit out on. Lovely double doors out, but large step up to get out. Fantastic views. There was plenty of noise from boats all day, but I heard very little during the night.

Breakfast was served in the room, ordered what we wanted, and the time of delivery on the first day, and it was brought to the room each morning. Unfortunately, it's a little cramped in the room to eat, one of us had to sit on bed, but great selection of food and drinks. Lovely and warm, and we had 2 lovely mornings so we sat out on the balcony to eat breakfast. We could change the time of breakfast on our last day as we had an early flight.

The room was a lovely size, it had a mini fridge and tea and coffee making facilities. Wardrobe and desk and chair. It has air-conditioning, but this only works in summer and heating, which was great. The bed was a double and lovely and comfortable.

Bathroom was great size. Had luggage storage and a second chair. Unfortunat, the shower was just a hose over bath, so you couldn't stand for a shower. Suited me grand as I love baths, but not my husband. Lovely big heater, so you could turn up and down as suited, plus a lovely big window with fab views. Shower gel/hair wash in tube over bath and sink.

The hotel does have a lift, but this only goes to the 3rd floor, so we have to walk up the stairs to the 4th floor. This mightn't suit older or disabled people. The lift did break down one day but was fixed by the next day. This did have an extra strain on poor legs, especially after the hours of walking around this beautiful town.

Overall, we had a fantastic time. The hotel, staff, and food and location were great.
