Appartamento Corte Bragadin Overview
First Impressions
Walking through the narrow streets of Dorsoduro to reach Appartamento Corte Bragadin, you’ll honestly feel like you’re discovering one of Venice‘s best-kept secrets. This three-star property sits tucked away in what locals know is the most authentic part of the city — far enough from the tourist chaos but close enough to everything that matters. The building itself has that weathered Venetian charm you can’t fake, and when you step inside, there’s this immediate sense that you’ve found something special.
The Dorsoduro Advantage
You know what makes this location so brilliant? Dorsoduro is where actual Venetians live and work, which means you’ll wake up to the sound of locals heading to their morning coffee instead of tour groups. The Peggy Guggenheim Collection is practically around the corner, and I mean that literally — it’s maybe a three-minute walk. The Accademia Bridge and all those postcard views are close enough that you can pop over whenever the light looks perfect for photos. Couples absolutely love this area (they rate it 9.7, which honestly makes perfect sense), and it’s because you get that romantic Venice feeling without feeling like you’re performing for other tourists.
The Space Itself
The apartment setup here is what really sets this place apart from your typical hotel experience. You’re not just getting a room — you’re getting a proper Venetian living space with character that’s been thoughtfully maintained. The interiors strike that perfect balance between historic charm and modern comfort, though don’t expect flashy amenities. What you do get is space to actually unpack and settle in, which feels like such a premium experience when you’re used to cramped hotel rooms. The windows let in that soft Venetian light that photographers dream about, and honestly, just sitting inside feels like being part of the city rather than visiting it.
Daily Life and Practicalities
One thing I really appreciate is how this place connects you to the rhythm of Venice. There’s a local bacaro (that’s a Venetian wine bar, if you’re wondering) just down the street where you can grab cicchetti and actually chat with locals. The nearest vaporetto stop is close enough that you’re not dragging luggage forever, but far enough that you’re not dealing with constant water taxi noise. Morning grocery runs become part of the experience — there’s a small market nearby where the vendors will remember your face after a couple of days. It’s these little details that make you feel less like a tourist and more like a temporary resident.
Why Guests Love It
What keeps people coming back to Appartamento Corte Bragadin is that it delivers exactly what Venice should feel like — intimate, authentic, and just a little bit magical. The location score of 9.7 isn’t just numbers on a website; it reflects how this spot lets you experience Venice the way it’s meant to be experienced. You’re close enough to San Marco that you can wander over when the mood strikes, but you’re staying somewhere that feels genuinely Venetian. For the price point, you’re getting incredible value — not just in terms of space and location, but in terms of the actual experience of living in Venice, even if it’s just for a few days.

Great location, comfortable studio

Great apartment in a nice quiet area, but only a few minutes walk to bars/shops/restaurants. Lovely apartment, all that we needed and air con! Lovely garden that we could have used and a responsive and helpful host. Thank you!
Jake from United Kingdom – 8 October 2023 (9/10)
Had everything we need, great location, good communication with the host, clean & tidy, great shower, everything required in the kitchen.
What could be improved: Mosquitos can get in so make sure you leave windows shut & take repellent.Haverkate from Netherlands – 19 September 2023 (9/10)
Perfect spot. Lovely host. Very well appointed and pretty place.
What could be improved: Perfect for a couple. But whilst there is space, there would have been no privacy if we had brought kids. All open plan.Adam from United Kingdom – 17 September 2023 (9/10)
The apartment was in a great location, easily walkable to the main sights, restaurants and water bus stop while being away from all the bustle of the main tourist spots. It also had everything for us to eat in when we didn't fancy another restaurant meal with a market shop nearby. The bed was also big with extra pillows provided which was appreciated.
Nina was great and helped with any queries we had.
What could be improved: You did sometimes get a drain smell in the apartment but as you walk around Venice you notice this is quite a common problem. Using the air conditioning/fan provided can help clear it but maybe it would be good to have some air freshener / plug-in to hide it if needed.Miranda from Australia – 5 July 2023 (9/10)
Easy to ferry, Zatterre or Academia.
James from Spain – 18 June 2023 (9/10)
We enjoyed the very quiet location yet close to restaurants, grocery store and transportation. The apartment has a lot of charm with modern conveniences. Nana was very helpful and easy to contact.
What could be improved: There were a lot of flying insects in the apartment. I was bitten quite a bit.Patricia from United States – 21 May 2023 (9/10)
Convenient, private ,safe. All things needed to cook plus good heat and ac.Owner friendly and charming.Lovely big garden
What could be improved: Only that it was a dark apartment but in Venice you want to get out!Laura from United Kingdom – 14 February 2023 (9/10)
Nina was extremely helpful! The bed was super comfortable and the location was perfect. Close enough to the main sights but in a quiet corner.
What could be improved: N/a – Nina was so responsive to all of our asks for helpLinda from Canada – 22 April 2022 (9/10)
Mostly the fact that it was close to the Vaporetto stop and many attractions, such as Academia and the Realto bridge & Piazza San Marco were a good walk away, but not a problem when there is so much to see along the way.
What could be improved: Nothing really, we wish we could’ve stayed longer in Venice. We didn’t see everything that we wanted to see.
