Hotel Description
You know, I stumbled upon the B&B HOTEL Venezia Laguna kind of by accident last spring when I was road-tripping through Italy and realized driving into Venice proper is basically a nightmare – all those narrow bridges and no-parking vibes. It’s tucked away on Isola Nova del Tronchetto, this man-made island that’s essentially the backdoor to the city, right where the causeway from the mainland dumps you off. I mean, if you’re coming by car like I did, it’s a godsend because they’ve got that massive parking garage nearby, and you can just hop on the People Mover (it’s like a little automated train, costs a couple euros) to Piazzale Roma in under five minutes. Honestly, pulling up to the hotel after that long drive from Verona, the first thing that hit me was the salty tang of the lagoon air – not overpowering, but enough to remind you you’re in Venice without the tourist crush of San Marco. The building itself is modern-ish, nothing flashy for a 3-star spot, with this bright blue and white facade that sort of blends into the industrial feel of Tronchetto, but hey, it’s clean and unpretentious.
What really sold me, though, was how practical it all felt for a quick Venice escape. Check-in was a breeze – the staff spoke decent English, and there was no fuss even though I arrived late, around 10 PM, when the ferries were still humming in the background. My room was on the third floor, overlooking the water (ask for that if you can; the views of the cruise ships gliding by at dusk are oddly mesmerizing, even if it’s not the Grand Canal). It was compact, sure – bed a tad firm for my liking, and the bathroom had that basic tile setup with a rainfall shower that actually worked great after a day of wandering – but everything was spotless, with free Wi-Fi that didn’t lag (crucial for mapping out vaporetto routes). Breakfast was included, nothing gourmet, just your standard continental spread with croissants, yogurt, and surprisingly good espresso from a machine, but it fueled me up for the short walk to the Tronchetto vaporetto stop. Oh, and a small critique: it can get a bit noisy in the mornings with the boat traffic and folks heading to the parking lots – earplugs helped, or just embrace it as part of the Venice rhythm. I spent my days exploring Dorsoduro and Cannaregio, hopping back easily without feeling isolated, and evenings were quiet enough to unwind with a spritz from the vending machine in the lobby (yeah, they have those – handy for budget travelers).
All in all, if you’re not chasing luxury but want a solid base that’s affordable and smartly placed – especially in peak season when central hotels jack up prices – this place is a winner. It’s got that 8.8 rating for a reason; it’s reliable, with little touches like air conditioning that actually cools the room (a lifesaver in humid May) and helpful tips from the front desk on avoiding the crowds at Rialto. I left feeling like I’d hacked Venice travel – no schlepping luggage over bridges, just easy access to the magic. Would I stay again? Absolutely, next time maybe in fall when the fog rolls in over the lagoon.

Reviews
Modern, clean, kind staff – Haniyeh from Bulgaria – 13 July 2025 (9/10)
The hotel staff were very kind and patiently helped us with our questions about sightseeing in Venice. 🥰The hotel was very clean and beautiful. The breakfast was varied and delicious. We informed them that we had to leave the hotel before breakfast the next morning and they gave us breakfast boxes to take. The hotel was close to the bus stop with a beautiful view.
What could be improved: There were only two bad things. One was that there was no air conditioning in the room and the window was locked.
And we stopped in the reception for more than an hour at the beginning of arrival and before the room was delivered to pay for the city tax. The process was very time consuming and complex. Probably if we wanted to do it ourselves it would definitely take more time. It was very annoying to us because we had just arrived and we were tired.Exceptional – Beatriz from United Kingdom – 12 July 2025 (10/10)
Very comfortable and new
It was good overall – Rosa from United Kingdom – 10 July 2025 (8/10)
Nice & big rooms and new
What could be improved: Hotel car park not signposted and hotel should advise customers the best way to get into Venice.Very good – Sıla from Turkey – 8 July 2025 (8/10)
The breakfast was excellent. The hotel was close to the ferry terminal. It was clean, safe, and comfortable, and the furniture was new. However, renovations were still ongoing, and the entrance to the hotel was a bit tucked away.
What could be improved: Even though I had already paid the city tax through Booking, they charged me for it again in cash. I don’t think it was intentional on their part, but I will contact Booking regarding this issue. Also, the hotel listing mentioned a minibar, but everything inside was for an extra charge, and they didn’t even provide complimentary drinking water.Great new hotel, perfect location, reasonable price – Jan from Czech Republic – 6 July 2025 (10/10)
Overall it was perfect. Great location just several minutes walk from the water bus and from (Flix)bus station. The hotel was opened some weeks ago, so everything is nice and shiny. The staff was really nice and professional. I had a really nice view from the 4th floor looking at the water and Mestre (there was some construction ongoing on the left, right and bottom view, but if i looked straight to it was great). Breakfast was tasty and a good selection of products. Bar in the evening was able to prepare pretty good Aperolspritz. The price was ok considering the location and the facilities.
What could be improved: Maybe the hotel entrance, You need to go to the back of the building to enter it, it was a bit strange. You can't run too much water in the bathroom, the water was dangerously closing the bathroom door frame when i was showering for the first time,, but i noticed 😀 The tiles slope in the shower was not enough i guess. But other than that everything was ok.Great.. would recommend – Elijah from Hungary – 6 July 2025 (9/10)

Clean, modern, friendly staff! Easy to get into Venice, the ferry stop is a 2 minute walk from the hotel! Easy to find. Do not trust bad reviews, we read a few and it worried us but we didn't have anything to worry about!!
