Ca’ Boldo – San Polo — Au Coeur de Venise – True Venice Overview
First Impressions
Walking through the narrow calli of San Polo to reach Ca’ Boldo – San Polo — Au Coeur de Venise – True Venice, you’ll immediately understand why this three-star property scores so highly with guests. The building itself has that authentic Venetian charm — weathered stone, wrought-iron details, and the kind of character you can’t fake. I mean, you’re literally staying in one of Venice’s most coveted neighborhoods, and honestly, the location alone makes this place worth considering.
Location & Neighborhood
Here’s what I love about staying in San Polo — you’re right in the thick of things without being overwhelmed by tourist crowds. The property sits perfectly between the Rialto Bridge and the train station, which sounds touristy but actually works brilliantly for getting around. You can walk to St. Mark’s Square in about fifteen minutes, but you’re also close enough to the Rialto Market to grab fresh fruit for breakfast if you want. The sestiere has this wonderful mix of locals going about their daily business and enough good restaurants that you won’t run out of dinner options.
The Rooms
The accommodations at Ca’ Boldo have that cozy Venetian apartment feel — think exposed beams, traditional furnishings, and windows that actually open (which is more of a premium feature than you’d expect in Venice). The rooms aren’t huge, but they’re thoughtfully designed and comfortable enough for a proper night’s sleep after all that walking on stone streets. What really impressed me was how quiet it stays despite being in such a central location. You know how Venice can echo at night — well, somehow this place manages to buffer most of that noise.
Getting Around
One thing that makes Ca’ Boldo particularly smart for couples (and the 9.0 location rating from couples backs this up) is how walkable everything becomes from here. You’re close enough to the San Stae vaporetto stop when your feet need a break, but honestly, most of Venice’s highlights are within easy walking distance. The nearby Ponte delle Tette has some great little wine bars if you want to experience Venice like locals do — away from the main tourist circuits but still completely authentic.
Why Guests Love It
That 9.3 location score isn’t just numbers — it reflects how this property genuinely delivers on the Venice experience without the typical headaches. You’re staying somewhere that feels residential rather than touristy, but you haven’t sacrificed accessibility to get there. The combination of authentic neighborhood charm, solid three-star comfort, and that unbeatable San Polo location creates exactly what most people hope for in Venice but often struggle to find. It’s the kind of place where you’ll actually want to come back to your room during the day, maybe to rest up before dinner or just to enjoy being in Venice rather than constantly rushing between sights.

location is perfect. Quiet zone, 5 min walk to vaporetto Line1, two marvellous piazzas near buy with excellent trattorias, COOP, and cafe shops. The appartment is very comfortable, sunny, and fully equipped. Kitchen is perfect.
What could be improved: The TV could be upgraded to a smart TV and this is the only I can think as improvement.Marjory from United Kingdom – 8 July 2024 (9/10)
The location was excellent slightly off the beaten track but very close to excellent local shops and restaurants which we prefer to a busy tourist area. The apartment was lovely and the views superb.

This was a beautiful apartment in the center of Venice with easy access to all areas. Paola was great and met me when I go a little lost with maps. Be warned that Maps can be a little inaccurate at times. Still great.
The apartment was clean and had all that I needed. It was spacious and as advertised. The views are lovely (I'm a photographer so it's important to me).
It was tranquil and well-decorated.
There's a supermarket only 5 minutes' walk away that has all you need for your stay so if you're on a budget, this is excellent.
Communication was great.
What could be improved: Even with Maps, it was tricky to find. However, that was an issue with maps. Paola had to come and meet me when I got close. I think an ariel photo with 'x' marks the spot would help in future.
Only two rings on the cooker were working and this was explained. It wasn't too bad.
On the first night the heating didn't seem to work and the owner came around to help. This was very much appreciated. The second night the same and I had to keep increasing the temperature. No big shakes.
I'm a very clean person, but the obsession with how recycling works here is a big negative for me and the fact that you have to make sure you're in for rubbish collection is not good. How everthing has to be separated. There really needs to be a better process. I'm here on holiday, not to learn and practice recycling. I do all that in my normal life. Also, it states that if you can't be in, there's a local drop off point but I could not find it and in the end, a kind shopkeeper took my rubbish. Again, an ariel photo map with 'x' marks the spot or a maps pin location would be great.
To be asked to leave the kitchen in the way you found it seems unreasonable to me as cleaning the apartment should be in the price. I ran two airbnb properties in Brighton for a few years and we always had cleaners in. It's part of the service provided. So was not happy about feeling like I had to be their cleaner. As I had to leave at 4.30am, it's impractical to expect the final rubbish to be taken care of. This need to be fixed.Breeda from Ireland – 15 October 2022 (9/10)
Absolutley everything.Paola was most accomodating, great location, spotless and comfortable with every amenity you coild ask for.Well done.
Aine from Ireland – 18 April 2022 (9/10)
The location is perfect. The apartment is homely and spacious. Has a small balcony and stunning views of small canals. Fully equipped with everything you could want or need. Paulo was very helpful, despite missing our flight she still met us within minutes of arriving.
What could be improved: Everything was great
