Hotel Description
I remember stumbling upon Ca’ Corazzeri after weaving through those narrow calli in Castello – you know, that district east of San Marco where the crowds thin out and you start feeling like you’re in the real Venice, not just the postcard version. It’s tucked away on Ramo dei Corazzeri, this quiet little side street off the main drag near the Arsenale, and honestly, if you’re not paying attention to your phone’s GPS (which, let’s be real, glitches half the time in these old alleys), you might miss it entirely. I arrived by vaporetto from Santa Lucia station – hopped off at San Zaccaria, which is just a 10-minute walk away, dodging the occasional delivery cart and inhaling that mix of salty canal water and fresh bread from the fornaio around the corner. The building itself is one of those classic Venetian palazzos, all weathered brick and shuttered windows, nothing flashy, but it has this cozy, lived-in vibe that makes you feel like you’re crashing at a friend’s place rather than checking into a hotel. Check-in was a breeze; the owner – this chatty local guy named Marco, I think – greeted me with a espresso and some tips on avoiding the tourist traps, which was a nice touch after lugging my bag over those uneven pavestones.
What really sold me on the place was how it balances that old-world charm with just enough modern comforts to keep things comfortable, especially for a 3-star spot. My room was on the second floor, overlooking a tiny courtyard – small, sure, like most in Venice (I mean, space is at a premium here), but with these high ceilings and exposed beams that give it character, plus a surprisingly comfy bed that didn’t creak too much. No elevator, though, so pack light if stairs aren’t your thing. Breakfast was simple but spot-on: fresh croissants, yogurt, and that strong Italian coffee served in a sunny common area where you can hear the distant hum of boats on the lagoon. I spent one morning just sitting there, people-watching the neighbors hanging laundry – it’s those little moments that make Venice magical. The location’s a winner too; you’re steps from the Biennale gardens if you’re into art, or you can wander to Campo San Zaccaria for a gelato without the San Marco mobs. Oh, and it’s pretty quiet at night – well, except for the occasional church bell or cat yowling, but that’s part of the charm. One minor gripe: the Wi-Fi can be spotty in the rooms, but it works fine in the lobby, and who comes to Venice to scroll anyway?
All in all, if you’re looking for an authentic stay without breaking the bank – we’re talking solid value for an 8.6 rating – Ca’ Corazzeri is a gem, especially in shoulder season when Venice isn’t swamped. It’s not for folks wanting five-star pampering (no spa or fancy gym here), but if you appreciate hidden spots that let you live like a local, this is it. I left feeling like I’d uncovered a secret, and I’d totally go back – maybe next time in autumn, when the fog rolls in and the whole city feels even more mysterious.

Exceptional – Valerii from Russia – 21 June 2025 (10/10)
The location is great, both Arsenal and San-Marko square are really near. The apartment is quite large, one room with double-bed, the place with sofa, the kitchen and the bathroom. Everything was clean.
What could be improved: May be one could provide the apartment with the adapters from the Italian sockets for the foreign guests.Exceptional – Corina from United Kingdom – 8 June 2025 (10/10)

What could be improved: NothingNice apartment in Venice – Olga from Germany – 23 May 2025 (9/10)
This was our second stay at this apartment and it has become one of my favorite places to stay in Venice. The apartment has everything one needs, well equipped kitchen, cozy bedroom, clean bathroom with the shower and bidet and a TV with access to YouTube. Several restaurants and bars nearby with reasonable prices, less than 15 min walk to San Marco square and just a few min walk to Arsenale. The host is very nice, responds immediately and ready to help.
What could be improved: Everything was perfect.Nice place away from home – Rafal from South Africa – 30 April 2025 (10/10)
Good location, nice appartment and nice balcony to sit, relax ….and watch the neighbors cat. We really enjoy our stay. Highly recommend.
Superb – Ramin from Switzerland – 10 March 2025 (9/10)
Comfy bed, big bedroom and I liked the bathroom especially the shower. The host was available online. The check-in was easy. Overall, great experience.
What could be improved: Check-out was at 10:30 which is a bit early and leaving the city tax as cash is not the best system.Wonderful place to stay in Venice. – Ann from United States – 11 November 2024 (10/10)
This is a very nice place to stay. It is roomy, has many nice touches, comfortable bed, nice bathroom and kitchen. It is close to many places, restaurants, and grocery store and is in a less crowded area. We walked everywhere. Would love to stay here again if we ever come back to Venice.
