Ca’ Dea Sarta Venice Apartment Overview
First Impressions
Walking down Calle dei Amai in Santa Croce, you’d almost miss Ca’ Dea Sarta Venice Apartment if you weren’t looking for it — and honestly, that’s part of its charm. This three-star property sits tucked away in one of Venice‘s quieter neighborhoods, where you’ll hear more Italian conversations than tourist chatter. The building itself has that weathered Venetian elegance you see in postcards, but what really struck me was how it feels like stepping into someone’s actual home rather than a sterile hotel lobby.
The Santa Croce Advantage
I mean, there’s a reason couples rate this location 9.9 out of 10 — Santa Croce is Venice without the circus. You’re still walking distance from San Marco (about 15 minutes if you know the shortcuts), but you’ll actually be able to move at a normal pace here. The neighborhood has this authentic residential feel where locals do their grocery shopping and kids play in the campos. What I love is that you can grab morning coffee at the corner bar where the barista remembers your order, then be at the Rialto Bridge in ten minutes when you’re ready to play tourist.
The Space Itself
The apartment setup here is what makes Ca’ Dea Sarta special — you’re not getting a cramped hotel room with two tiny bottles of shampoo. Each unit has a proper kitchen (well, kitchenette really, but functional enough), which honestly saves you from eating every meal at overpriced tourist spots. The furnishings strike that sweet spot between Venetian character and modern comfort — think exposed beams and original terrazzo floors, but also decent Wi-Fi and a shower with actual water pressure. The windows open onto narrow streets where you can people-watch or eavesdrop on neighborhood gossip if your Italian’s up to it.
Getting Around
Here’s something most places won’t tell you — Santa Croce connects to the mainland, so you can actually walk to Piazzale Roma and the train station without taking a single vaporetto. That’s huge when you’re dragging luggage or just want to escape the island for a bit. The nearest vaporetto stop is San Stae, maybe a three-minute walk, and from there you can reach anywhere in Venice. I actually preferred walking most places though — the route to San Marco takes you through some of the city’s most photogenic (and least crowded) streets.
Why Guests Love It
You know what really sets this place apart? It’s that 9.6 rating that actually feels earned. The owners clearly care about the details — fresh linens, local recommendations that aren’t just the obvious tourist traps, and they’re genuinely helpful when you need directions or dinner suggestions. Plus, having that kitchen means you can hit the Rialto market in the morning and prepare lunch with actual Venetian ingredients. It’s authentic Venice living without the astronomical price tag of the palace hotels.

What could be improved: We loved everything about the apartment.Kyae from South Korea – 16 December 2024 (10/10)
My parents traveled to Venice on a package many years ago and were very disappointed that they didn't get to see much because of the nature of the package, which left them little free time.
So, I spent a few days checking out all the reviews of all the accommodations in Venice for their trip and eventually decided on Ca'Dea Sarta Venice Apartment.
And I wasn't wrong.
My parents arrived at Marco Polo Airport late at night, and despite the late hour, they were warmly greeted by the owner's parents personally, who explained the apartment to them in detail.
I was in touch with them every day and they assured me that the accommodation was very clean (bedroom, living room, kitchen, bathroom, etc.) and that the hot water would help them recover from the 25,000-30,000 steps per day they had walked for four days.
(It’s also very close to the bus terminal on foot, which is a big plus)
I will definitely stay at your place if I get the chance to go to Venice one day.
Once again, thank you very much.

Amazingly clean, cozy and welcoming apartment! Great hosts. As a solo traveller I felt safe and so at home in this apartment. It was spacious, beautiful and extremely clean. Location is super close to the train station, vaporetto water bus stops and bus station Piazzale Roma, with a supermarket nearby. It's about a 25 minute walk to Piazza San Marco so it's not in a super touristy area, but it's great to be able to walk and see lots of the streets of Venice you might not see if you were staying closer to Piazza San Marco, and there are plenty of cafes and restaurants nearby. Highly recommend this apartment for solo travellers or couples!
What could be improved: Nothing, it was really a wonderful stay. There is no iron or washing machine for those who need, however there is a laundromat close by.Jo from New Zealand – 17 August 2024 (10/10)
The apartment was amazing. Every little extra had been thought of. If you wanted to cook they had salt and pepper etc. Forgot your skin moisturiser no problem it was in the bathroom cupboard. It was like staying with family. And not only was the bed comfortable the apartment was immaculately clean. It was super easy to find- only 10 mins walk from the train station. And the key handover was wonderful with lots of great tips for places to go and eat. It’s cleaned and looked after by the owners which means a much better service than an agency. We would def stay again. The location was very quiet and easy to get everywhere in Venice.

The apartment is completely renovated, very confortable and clean. Also, you have all the appliances working properly. Giulia is really kind and communicative, she and her family were ready to support us in all the details, even with some tourism tips. I strongly recommend this apartment!
