The Room Experience

The room I stayed in lived up to that “Blue Canal View” promise in the name, and honestly, watching the light change on the water throughout the day never got old. The space feels thoughtfully designed — not huge by any means (this is Venice, after all), but everything has its place. The decor strikes that balance between traditional Venetian touches and modern comfort that’s harder to achieve than it looks. I mean, you’re not getting a massive American-style hotel room, but the canal views more than make up for the cozy European proportions.

Neighborhood Gems

What really makes staying here work is how the neighborhood reveals itself over a few days. There’s this little bacaro around the corner where locals actually drink their morning coffee — you’ll spot it because it’s always busy with people who clearly aren’t tourists. The walk to the Biennale gardens takes maybe ten minutes, and you pass through some of the quietest, most photogenic parts of Venice along the way. Castello has this lived-in feeling that’s getting harder to find in Venice, where so many areas feel like outdoor museums.

  A beautiful apartment, set right in the heart of Venice, but away from the very crowded areas. However, St Mark's Sq is only 10 minutes walk away, and all the main sights are easily reached by walking or water bus. Ospedale water bus stop (for the airport water bus) is only 10 minutes walk away. February in Venice was cold, but the apartment was toasty, and there was plenty of hot water in the three en suite bathrooms. Super visit!
  
  What could be improved: Can't think of anything. The hosts have gone to a lot of effort to ensure a comfortable stay.

  What could be improved: Apartment not as spacious as shown in the photos. Also, the "Canal view" (which seems to be a marketing tactic as it is contained on the "The Blue Canal View" as advertised in the apartment name) is nothing to shout about.
  
  Washing machine in the apartment was not working when we checked in. The Landlord informed us that the person immediately before our stay had reported the washing machine as not being operarational on the weekend hencen it could not be repaired by the time we checked in on a Sunday. The machine had still not been repaired when we checked out 2 days later. However, no compensation or discount was forthcoming or offered to us by the Landlord for the inconvenience caused.
  
  No TV set in the apartment.
  
  Upon Check in, the Landlord informed us that we would not be able to adjust the Heater temperature for the apartment on our own. If we wanted to reduce or increase the apartment heating, we would need to request for her to do so. The Landlord informed us that this was because previous users of the apartment had damaged the heating equipment previously. This is the first time I have ever come across a situation where I needed to request the Landlord for heater temperature adjustment!
  
  No lift access to the apartment and the flight of stairs leading to the apartment is steep and narrow at some points. For anyone with bulky luggage, this may make it difficult to carry larger/heavier luggages to/from the apartment.

  Het is een fijn appartement en vooral de slaapkamers zijn lekker ruim. Hele fijne douche! De ligging is ook heel goed, lekker rustig maar toch overal dichtbij en veel restaurants e.d. in de buurt. En aankomen met de watertaxi vanaf het vliegveld is echt heel erg leuk.
  
  What could be improved: De inductieplaat was stuk en dat was onhandig op het moment dat een van ons niet lekker was en thuis wilde blijven 's avonds. Dat was niet op te lossen omdat het Pasen was. De huiskamer is iets kleiner dan je op de foto's zou denken. Verder was alles prima.

  Great option for 3 couples with an ensuite for each bedroom. Comfortable beds, powerful showers. Lounge and kitchen area worked well for us.
  
  Ilaria kindly arranged water taxis which arrived on time and at the correct price as quoted.
  
  Recommend a morning coffee and pastry at Pasticceria Alla Bragora.
  
  What could be improved: Curtains needed in bridge view room to block light from windows overlooking the pavement.

  Beautiful apartment, perfect location, and staff was very helpful and personable. Loved the French doors opening out to view of the canal and the blue tooth speaker for playing music. Very nice decor, good A/C. Every bedroom has its own bathroom.
  
  Two great points about the location: There is a grocery store less than 100 meters away. And we were able to get a water taxi up our canal from the airport right to the apartment. No walking and dragging luggage through Venice. The staff arranged another pickup for our departure.
  
  What could be improved: No issues, everything was great. There is a washing machine which is nice but no clothes dryer. But that's wasn't a big deal. We hung up things to dry.

  An exceptional three bedroom apartment with each bedroom having their own ensuite and one bedroom housing a clothes washing machine. The interior design is both beautiful and comfortable. Every bedroom has a view of the canal. The new kitchen is well appointed with a dishwasher and two burner cooktop. The main living area has two large doors (with a small balcony) that opens to the canal. It was lovely to sit and watch local Venice life from here. Staying in this part of Venice felt was like staying with the locals but close enough to walk to all the main attractions and the ferry's. No frantic crowds. We were a group of six adults travelling together and Ca Dei Dalmati was perfect for us. Staying here was the accommodation highlight of our trip. Thank you for the experience.

  A very nice location. Liked that it was away from the very crowded tourist areas.
  Spacious apartment. Comfortable beds. Very nicely decorated. En suite bath in each room. Lovely views.
