Cà dei Santi- BIENNALE Overview
First Impressions
Walking through the narrow streets of Castello to find Cà dei Santi- BIENNALE feels like you’re discovering a secret that locals have been keeping to themselves. This three-star gem sits in what’s honestly one of the best neighborhoods in Venice — and I mean that quite literally, since couples consistently rate the location a perfect 10. The moment you step inside, you realize this isn’t your typical tourist trap hotel. There’s something authentic about the place that makes you feel like you’ve actually found a piece of real Venice.
The Castello Advantage
You know what’s brilliant about staying in Castello? You’re close enough to all the major sights but far enough from the cruise ship crowds that descend on San Marco every morning. I’ve watched guests leave for breakfast and return with stories about stumbling upon tiny campos and family-run bacari that most visitors never find. The area has this perfect balance — you can walk to the Doge’s Palace in about ten minutes, but your evenings are spent among actual Venetians going about their daily lives. It’s the kind of location that makes you feel like you’re living in Venice rather than just visiting it.
Your Home Base
The room I stayed in had that wonderful Venetian character you hope for — original details mixed with modern comfort, though nothing too fancy (this is a three-star property, after all). What impressed me most was how quiet everything was at night. You’d think being in the heart of Venice would mean constant noise, but Castello has this almost residential feel once the day-trippers head back to the mainland. The windows actually open properly too, which might sound trivial until you’re trying to get some fresh air after a long day of sightseeing.
Getting Around
Here’s something practical that matters — you’re walking distance from multiple vaporetto stops, which honestly saves you both time and money. The Arsenale stop is particularly handy if you’re planning to visit the Biennale (hence the hotel name, I suppose), and San Zaccaria connects you to basically everywhere else you’d want to go. I actually found myself walking more than taking water buses because the neighborhood is so pleasant to wander through. There are these little bridges and side streets that GPS can’t really capture — you just have to experience them.
Why Guests Love It
That 9.1 rating isn’t just numbers on a screen — it reflects what happens when a hotel gets the fundamentals right without trying to be something it’s not. The staff genuinely seems to care about helping you navigate Venice like a local, and the location gives you access to both tourist essentials and authentic experiences. I mean, when couples are rating the location a perfect 10, that tells you something significant about how this place enhances your Venice experience. It’s about being in exactly the right spot to fall in love with this impossible, beautiful city.

Heel erg proper, zou zeker opnieuw daar willen logeren.

Nice appartment in my favorite part of Venice, just a few meters away from Via Garibaldi, the Arsenale and the Biennale. Very clean and quiet, with well equipped kitchen.
What could be improved: I don't like ground floor appartments. But thats a matter of personal taste. It was clearly indicated, that it is a ground floor place, so nobody is to blame.Elise from United Kingdom – 1 November 2023 (9/10)
We made our own food.
What could be improved: There was no information about the working of the cooker. Only one tea towel.Marat from Russia – 18 August 2023 (10/10)
Apartment is very nice, fully equipped, clean. We felt like home there.
Location is the best for visiting Biennale – it's close both to Giardini and Arsenale. It's aside from main touristic places, but it's more cosy and less crowded there. There are plenty of good restaurants/bars nearby and two supermarkets just across the street.
The host gives you every information you need, how to get to the property, local rules about waste, some places to visit and restaurants around.
Also there is a place nearby to store baggage after check out, which was a very useful for us.Diana from Romania – 13 August 2023 (10/10)

Set in a little lane way off a gorgeous wide street, Ca dei Santi is the perfect sanctuary after a day walking around busy Venice. Amazing location, close to gorgeous restaurants, and within walking distance from all the main sites. The apartment has everything you need, is extremely comfortable, spotlessly clean and really nicely decorated. Communication with the hosts was effortless, and clear directions were provided to the apartment.
Ian from United Kingdom – 23 April 2023 (9/10)
A great location, easy for the Airport Waterbus plus the local ferry transport. Good restaurants in the area plus a great bakery and supermarket. Apartment was clean, homely, and welcoming and the host was very helpful. Water, juice, and wine left as a welcome plus coffee available and we felt almost at home.
What could be improved: Not the easiest place to find and a local street map would have been an excellent addition but this was an lovely apartment and if we return to Venice we would definitely try to book Ca dei Santi Biennale.Corinna from United Kingdom – 1 October 2022 (10/10)
Great Location. Staff and owner was very helpful and always there to help with any questions.
The apartment had everything you needed in it.
With a lovely welcome package of Water, Juice and Prosecco .
What could be improved: I would not change anything about the apartment or owner everything was perfectVincent from France – 6 May 2022 (9/10)
