Ca’ Del Campo Overview
First Impressions
Walking through the narrow streets of San Marco to reach Ca’ Del Campo, you honestly can’t miss the fact that you’re staying in the absolute heart of Venice. I mean, when couples are rating the location 9.7 out of 10, you know something special is happening here. This four-star boutique property sits right where all the action unfolds — and I’m talking about the kind of location where you step outside and you’re already living the Venice dream.
The Heart of San Marco
What struck me most about staying here was how effortlessly you can slip into the rhythm of Venetian life. St. Mark’s Square is practically on your doorstep, which means early morning walks before the crowds arrive become part of your routine. You know what’s brilliant about this spot? You can actually hear the bells of the Campanile from your room — not overwhelmingly loud, just this gentle reminder that you’re sleeping in one of the world’s most extraordinary cities. The Doge’s Palace, the Bridge of Sighs, those iconic gondola rides everyone talks about — they’re all within a few minutes’ walk.
The Property Experience
Ca’ Del Campo feels authentically Venetian without trying too hard, if that makes sense. The building itself has that weathered elegance you expect from a centuries-old palazzo, but inside it’s been thoughtfully updated for modern comfort. The rooms aren’t huge — this is Venice, after all, where space is precious — but they’re designed with genuine care for detail. Traditional Venetian touches blend with contemporary amenities, and honestly, the views from some rooms toward the canal activity below are worth the stay alone.
Living Like a Local
Here’s something I really appreciated: the staff actually knows the neighborhood. They’ll point you toward the little bacaro around the corner where locals grab their morning coffee, or suggest which bridge offers the best sunset views without the tourist crowds. Being this central means you can duck back to your room for a quick rest between morning sightseeing and evening wandering — something that becomes invaluable when you’re doing Venice properly on foot. The nearby streets hide some fantastic little shops and eateries that you’d never find if you were staying further out.
Why Guests Love It
The location score of 9.7 tells the real story here — you’re not just staying in Venice, you’re staying in the Venice that appears in all those travel dreams. Couples especially seem to get it, probably because there’s something undeniably romantic about being able to stroll to St. Mark’s for sunrise, spend the day exploring without worrying about transportation, and end up back at Ca’ Del Campo feeling like you’ve actually experienced the city rather than just visited it. It’s the kind of place where the location does half the work for you, leaving you free to simply enjoy being in one of the world’s most beautiful cities.
Best hotels in Venice blend frescoed salons, marble hammams, and rooftop altanas for prosecco sunsets.

Hotel is in an excellent location, close to San Marco and central to the city. It is beside a canal and has plenty of character. Staff were very helpful and particularly the breakfast lady was very pleasant.

We really enjoyed our stay! The room was spacious for a family of three and clean. The wifi connection was a but poor in the inner bedroom but we managed connecting in the outer one. Breakfast could be slightly improved with a better variety but we loved the roof top floor where it was served with the lovely view. The location is fantastic! just around the corner from St Marco's square and lots of great restaurants and pizza places. The gondola ride from the hotel is super! Would love to stay there again.

Good location, nice breakfast, nice staff and close to everything. There is even a little Spar supermarket next door and a little trattoria so very convenient.
What could be improved: The only thing was the view but I spent so little time in the hotel that the views are all around Venice wonderful.Yosephine from Czech Republic – 11 March 2025 (9/10)
Everything was perfect! We stayed for 3 days and enjoyed every bit of it. The breakfast was spectacular. The croissants are world-class!! We have many options too, so this is really appreciated, especially since most food in Venezia is overpriced 🙁 The location is so perfect; it is literally five minutes to many famous tourist areas. After we checked out, we realised we had left some of our shopping in the room. I immediately emailed the hotel, and they followed it up by sending the items to my home address. Forever grateful that we chose this hotel during our trip. Will definitely go back!

Ideally placed small hotel with friendly staff.
I visited as a solo female traveller around New Year's eve after a trip to Rome and it was easy to find after asking at the tourist reception in San Marco square(Sant Zulien Church and the Clocktower are landmarks to look for as it's behind there)
Two Gondolier stops directly outside the entrance with a Spar convenience store too!! Although there is a well stocked mini bar in the room which isn't terribly expensive with wine, spirits and snacks.
I'd also recommend the restaurant opposite left of the entrance for dinner and a glass of wine whilst people watching and Restaurant Gigi's for dinner. Their pasta with Prawns and Black Truffle is divine.
Gigi's is a 10min walk away and is a great find.
The hotel will store luggage after check out when asked if your flight is later in the evening which is helpful.
I'd definitely return to stay again.
What could be improved: Although the hotel is small there are two "reception" areas; one on level 1 and another on level 4 which isn't clear when you get to the hotel.
I had to search for a team member to check in.
Apart from that literally everything was great.Mica from Argentina – 7 July 2023 (9/10)
