The building’s old, like most in Venice, so expect some narrow stairs (no elevator, fair warning if you’ve got heavy bags), but once you’re up there, it opens into this cozy apartment that feels more like a friend’s place than some sterile rental. The terrace was the real star, though—overlooking rooftops and a sliver of canal, with that faint salty breeze mixing with the smell of someone cooking ragù nearby. I spent evenings out there with a bottle of Prosecco, listening to church bells echo and the occasional gondola splash, which sort of lulls you into forgetting the tourist bustle just a vaporetto stop away.

Well, Venice being Venice, forget about cars—leave yours in Mestre and take the train in, or splurge on a water taxi if you’re feeling fancy. Noise-wise, the courtyard keeps things quiet, especially off-season in fall when the summer hordes thin out, but you might hear some early morning chatter from the nearby fruit vendors during peak times. Honestly, my only minor gripe was the terrace chairs could use cushions—sitting out there for hours chatting with my partner, we ended up dragging pillows from inside.

  Super nice place, with a super host. Asked to book us restaurant, which he was more than welcome to do. Additionally loads of useful information was send about Venice. Would recommend the place anytime!

  Ideally situated in Santa Croce close to S. Stae vaporetto and the lovely Campo San Giacomo, this is a very well-appointed appartment with the added bonus of a roof terrace. Everything you need is provided and it is a very comfortable space for a couple, although there is an extra single bed upstairs. Paolo is an imaculate host and could not have been more helpful. We loved it.

  Ein ganz wundervolles Apartment mit kleiner toller Dachterrasse, super Ausblick, alles sehr liebevoll und geschmackvoll gestaltet und sehr gut ausgestattet, sehr bequemes Bett. Top Lage, mitten in der Altstadt. Leicht vom Bahnhof aus zu erreichen, Einkaufsmöglichkeit ganz in der Nähe. Tolle Tipps vorab von Paolo, top Wegbeschreibung mit Vaporetto wg. Gepäck, sehr netter, freundlicher Kontakt. Und ein riesen Dankeschön an Cristina für den so netten Empfang und die super Restaurant-Empfehlungen. Wir haben uns superwohl gefühlt, ganz tolle Tage dort verbracht und können Ca' del Mariner nur empfehlen. Wenn wir wieder in Venedig sind, dann in diesem Apartment.
