It’s rated 9.4 for a reason; everything feels thoughtful, from the fresh pastries at breakfast (grab the cornetti before they’re gone) to the quiet AC that drowns out the evening buzz from the square. That said, if you’re a light sleeper, well, the location means you might hear the odd gondolier serenading late into the night – charming at first, but pack earplugs if you’re jet-lagged. And parking? Forget it; this is Venice, so leave the car in Mestre and embrace the water life. During high season, like Carnevale, the area gets packed, but the hotel’s a peaceful retreat – sort of an oasis amid the chaos.

All in all, if you’re after that authentic Venetian vibe without skimping on comfort, Ca’ Della Luce Terrace is a gem. It’s perfect for couples or solo travelers who want to be steps from the Doge’s Palace or a quick walk to Rialto for some cicchetti at a bacaro (try Do Mori if you can snag a spot). I left feeling like I’d actually lived a slice of la dolce vita, not just passed through. Sure, it’s 4-star pricing, but for the memories – watching the city wake up from that terrace, or curling up with a book in the lounge as rain patters on the canal below – it’s worth every euro. Just book ahead, especially in shoulder season; you won’t regret it.

  Everything was great, very nice and helpful host. Comfortable and beautifully decorated apartment. There was everything we needed.in A quiet area but close to St Mark's Square. Perfect located.
