Mine overlooked a quiet rio, and at night, the only sounds were the gentle lap of water and distant church bells from Santa Maria dei Miracoli, just a short stroll away. Honestly, though, the bathroom could use a bit more water pressure; it’s an old building, so the plumbing has its quirks, but nothing that ruined the stay. I wandered out to the nearby Strada Nova for cicchetti at hole-in-the-wall spots like Al Timon – that’s where the real Venetians hang, away from the Rialto chaos. And if you’re into history, the Jewish Ghetto is literally around the corner, with its synagogues and that eerie quiet that hits different after sunset.

All in all, if you’re plotting a Venice trip and want to skip the tourist traps, Ca’ Fiordaliso is your spot – especially if you’re the type who appreciates a neighborhood feel over flashy lobbies. It’s not perfect; the Wi-Fi can be spotty during peak hours, but who comes to Venice to scroll Instagram? You’ll save your energy for exploring Cannaregio’s hidden campi, maybe catching a sunset vaporetto to Murano. I left feeling like I’d actually lived a slice of Venetian life, not just passed through. Worth every euro, I’d say – book it for that April quiet or avoid July’s heatwave if you can.
