Ca’ Moro Lido Overview

First Impressions

Walking into Ca’ Moro Lido feels like discovering a well-kept secret in the heart of Venice. This four-star boutique property sits right in San Marco — and I mean really in the thick of things, not tucked away somewhere you’ll need a map to find. The entrance is understated in that elegant Venetian way, where you know something special awaits without all the flashy signage.

Location That Actually Matters

Here’s what I love about this spot — you’re literally steps from St. Mark’s Square, but you’re not dealing with the chaos that comes with staying directly on the piazza. The hotel earned a 9.7 location score, and honestly, I get it. You can slip out for an early morning coffee before the crowds arrive, or take that perfect sunset stroll without having to navigate through tourist bottlenecks. The vaporetto stops are close enough that you won’t be dragging luggage through endless bridges, which anyone who’s been to Venice will appreciate.

The Room Experience

The accommodations here strike that sweet spot between authentic Venetian character and modern comfort. My room had those gorgeous high ceilings you expect in a historic building, but the air conditioning actually worked — something you can’t take for granted in older Venice properties. The windows opened onto a quiet courtyard, which meant I could sleep without earplugs (rare in this city). The bathroom was compact but well-designed, with good water pressure that made those long sightseeing days much more bearable.

Daily Rhythms

Mornings here feel particularly special because you’re up and moving before Venice fully awakens. There’s a lovely little café around the corner where locals grab their espresso — the kind of place you’d never find if you weren’t staying in the neighborhood. The staff at Ca’ Moro Lido knows the area inside and out, so they’ll point you toward the good spots rather than the obvious tourist traps. I actually discovered my favorite bacaro (wine bar) thanks to a recommendation from the front desk.

Why Guests Love It

That 9.8 rating makes perfect sense once you’ve stayed here. It’s the kind of place where everything just works without feeling overly polished or impersonal. Couples particularly seem to gravitate toward this hotel — there’s something romantic about having such prime access to Venice’s magic while still having a peaceful retreat to return to. The size is intimate enough that the staff remembers your name, but professional enough that you’re not dealing with amateur hour. You know what really sold me? Walking out the front door and being able to get genuinely lost in Venice’s maze of streets, then finding my way back to a place that felt like a proper home base.

**Amazing Stay in the Heart of Venice!**

We had a fantastic stay at these spacious and stylish apartments in the center of Venice. The location is perfect—quiet yet very convenient for exploring the city. The apartment is modern, warm, and beautifully designed, offering everything needed for a comfortable stay.

With **two bedrooms, four beds, and two bathrooms**, there was plenty of space for our group. The large living room and fully equipped kitchen made us feel right at home. The apartment had all the necessary amenities, making our stay truly enjoyable.

A special thank you to the host, who was incredibly attentive and went above and beyond to arrange taxis and excursions for us. Their hospitality made our trip even more special. We were absolutely delighted and would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Venice!

  • Prudence from Australia – 5 January 2025 (10/10)

Large modern apartment with 2 bedrooms (including parent retreat) 2 bathrooms and 3 toilets. Laundry. Fantastic secure location. Hosts extremely helpful including arranging private water taxis to and from the accommodation. TVs with access to streaming services. Excellent accommodation for a family with plenty of space.

    What could be improved: Nothing.

  • John from New Zealand – 4 January 2025 (9/10)

The Red House team could not have been more accommodating. They helped us organise a airport transfer via water taxi which was a very special way to arrive in Venice; and they met us at the jetty, took us to the property and personally showed us how everything worked. It made us feel very welcome and everything went very smoothly.

  • Janice from United States – 2 December 2024 (10/10)

Martina was so nice and welcoming! Very easy check-in process and was actually great to meet someone at the water taxi as the walk to the apartment was close but a little windy (as most streets in Venice are!)

What could be improved: The only drawback (which was minor) was the different levels/steps in the house…we tripped a couple times and my tall husband hit his head, but really no big deal!

  • Steve from Canada – 18 September 2024 (10/10)

The location is very good. The condo is very quiet . The set up is very convenient. Bedsheets and pillow are of good quality.

What could be improved: The living room ceiling is a little low and the living room is a bit dark (lack of natural light ). But otherwise, everything is very comfortable, quiet , well equipped with a very welcoming person.

  • Kristi from United States – 14 April 2024 (10/10)

Great location and comfortable beds. Good size space for family of 4. Loved all the kitchen amenities, washer and overall ambiance of the apartment. It was very quiet and behind a locked door area. It was also great to have an elevator to haul the luggage up and down. Super convenient location with a view of the canal. Absolutely amazing stay. Hosts were also friendly and professional. They went above and beyond to help us get a private water taxi from the train station and to the airport.

  • Latatia from Switzerland – 21 August 2023 (10/10)

Property was very clean, spacious, close to shops, restaurants.

  • Holly from United Kingdom – 16 August 2023 (10/10)

We have just returned from 3 nights at Ca' Moro Lido with our two children aged 11 & 13. Initially we had explored the idea of a hotel with a family room or adjoining rooms but this property worked out a far better and more cost affective option for us. The property is beautiful and peaceful, set up on the third floor ( don't panic, there is a lift!) in a very spacious apartment. You are ideally situated to walk to shops and restaurants (5 mins) and the Rialto and St. Marks are very accessible too. The rooms are beautiful with gorgeous, spacious ensuite bathrooms and very comfortable beds. The living area is huge with a gorgeous comfy corner sofa, additional sofa chairs, dining table, breakfast bar and a well appointed kitchen. We loved opening the windows to enjoy the sound of the bells ringing out each morning, my husband walked 2 minutes to a great little bakery to pick up apricot croissants each morning whilst I made the coffee. There are beautiful views out of the master bedroom across to the grand canal and the other bedroom looks down into a beautiful little side canal.
We highly recommend 'Rosa Rossa' restaurant (5 mins walk) for exceptional food, wine and a lovely little alfresco dining area out the back in a quiet, atmospheric back street.

We decided to treat ourselves to a private water taxi from the Marco Polo airport which took us direct to 'Sant Angelo' dock where we were met by our host who kindly showed us the short walk to our accommodation. This we highly recommend also, it was an absolutely stunning way to arrive in Venice, weaving through all of the beautiful canals and taking in the views, whilst avoiding the busy public transport. Also for the four of us it was actually not much different in price.

The entire trip was wonderful and we highly recommend this property to everyone! We would love to stay again one day!

    Thank you Marco!

  • Odi from United Kingdom – 12 August 2023 (10/10)

Everything. This is a fantastic property a great location. Beautifully finished. Great host. Absolutely everything about this stay was fantastic… a very easy 10 out of 10.

What could be improved: We liked everything

  • Katheryn from Australia – 24 June 2023 (9/10)

    Everything!

What could be improved: Just missing facial tissues & the toilets dont flush easily on the 3rd floor, obviously in an old city plumbing is hard to pump up to the 3rd floor!! Additionally, we accidentally broke two wine glasses, our apologies!
