Ca’ Moro Salina Overview
First Impressions
Walking through the narrow streets of San Marco to find Ca’ Moro Salina feels like you’re following a treasure map — and honestly, that’s exactly what you’re doing. This four-star boutique hotel sits right in the heart of Venice, tucked away on a quiet fondamenta where you can actually hear the gentle lapping of canal water instead of tourist chatter. The entrance is understated in that perfectly Venetian way, where you know something special awaits behind an unassuming door.
Location That Actually Matters
You know what’s rare in Venice? Finding a place that’s genuinely central but doesn’t feel like you’re camping in St. Mark’s Square. Ca’ Moro Salina nails this balance — you’re literally a three-minute walk from the Basilica, but the immediate area feels residential and peaceful. I mean, you can pop out for morning coffee at the local bars where Venetians actually go, then be at the Doge’s Palace before the crowds hit. The location score of 9.6 isn’t just marketing fluff; couples especially seem to get it, probably because you can wander back for afternoon breaks without the tourist parade following you.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in had that perfect blend of Venetian character and modern comfort that’s surprisingly hard to find here. Original beamed ceilings and terrazzo floors give you the historical atmosphere, while the updated bathroom and air conditioning remind you it’s 2024. The windows — well, some face the canal and others look onto a quiet courtyard, but either way you’re getting that authentic Venice soundtrack. What struck me most was the attention to detail in the furnishings; everything feels curated rather than just hotel-standard.
Daily Rhythms
Breakfast happens in a charming ground-floor space that opens onto a small terrace — actually, calling it a terrace makes it sound grander than it is, but that intimate scale is part of the charm. The spread focuses on quality Italian basics rather than trying to be everything to everyone, which I appreciated. Evenings are where this place really shines though; you can grab aperitivo at nearby bacari, then return to a hotel that feels like a peaceful retreat rather than another tourist processing center.
Why Guests Love It
The 9.6 rating makes sense when you experience how Ca’ Moro Salina handles the Venice balancing act. It’s intimate enough that the staff actually remembers your name, but professional enough that everything just works smoothly. The real magic happens in those quiet moments — maybe you’re reading on the terrace in the morning, or returning late after dinner when the streets have emptied out. This isn’t about flashy amenities or over-the-top service; it’s about finding your own corner of Venice that feels authentic and welcoming, which is honestly what most people are really looking for here.

Beautiful modern apartment with stylish decoration and furniture. Yet still some beautiful details of the buildings heritage. Located great near everything. Staff welcoming and helpful. Beds very comfortable and bedrooms nicely separated. Kitchen is modern and well equipped.

Property arranged for a water taxi which met us at the airport and took us to saint angelo stop which is closest . We did the same for our return journey..very smooth. The place is well located out of the main busy tourist area but still very close to everything. Good Sized apartment with plenty of towels, toiletries etc kitchen facilities adequate except the coffee issues and could do with more cups and glasses.
What could be improved: The Wi-Fi only worked on the main floor. Not in upstairs or downstairs bedrooms. The air con only worked barely in the upstairs room…couldn’t get it to work at all on main level and downstairs. The coffee machine appeared broken and as no pods were provided, we couldn’t test it. we couldn’t get the stove to work to heat coffee pot..hosts were not very responsive when we asked. Ended up drinking instant Nescafé all week!Rebecca from United Kingdom – 14 November 2023 (10/10)
It was lovely and warm (for visiting in winter!) well located, and we loved that all 3 bedrooms could accommodate couples as we travelled with our family (3 couples). Rooms were huge and lots of wardrobe space, very modern and beautiful.

The apartment is absolutely beautiful. Very spacious, beautifully furnished and well maintained. Marco was waiting upon arrival with keys and to show us around the apartment. He even arranged our private water taxi to the airport upon the end of our stay. The location is very central and easy to get to all destinations.
Andrew from Singapore – 10 January 2023 (10/10)
Modern apartment with a quaint touch within an old building with a traditional courtyard. The location was central and minutes walk from river taxis and old town. Great access to places of interests, restaurants, cafes and shops.
What could be improved: Nothing really…would have like a bit more table top space in the toilet if I really have to come up with one🤗Birgitta from United States – 9 September 2022 (10/10)
Apartment was very clean, beautiful and large. Excellent location and close to coffee shops, San Marco square and numerous delicious restaurants. Very easy to get to and an elevator for all our luggage.

Very comfortable space with easy access to a dock on the Grand Canal.
What could be improved: Very warm in Venice for this time of year. The A/C was not working for most of the stay. Otherwise the apartment was excellent.
