Cà Paola Cozy Venice Apartment Overview

First Impressions

Walking up to the first floor of this historic Venetian building, you immediately sense you’ve found something special. Cà Paola Cozy Venice Apartment sits right in the Castello district, and honestly, the name says it all — this three-star property feels more like staying at a friend’s beautifully appointed apartment than a typical hotel. The moment you step inside, there’s this authentic Venetian charm that you just can’t fake, with original details that remind you you’re sleeping in a city that’s been welcoming travelers for centuries.

Location & Neighborhood

Here’s what I love about the location — you’re actually in the real Venice, not some touristy bubble. Calle del Volto puts you right in the heart of things, but in that perfect way where you can duck into quiet side streets when the crowds get overwhelming. I mean, couples consistently rate this location a perfect 10, and after wandering these narrow alleys, I totally get why. You’re close enough to San Marco that you can pop over whenever you want, but far enough away that you’ll discover those little neighborhood bars and shops that most visitors never find.

The Space

What strikes you about this apartment is how it manages to feel both cozy and spacious at the same time. The rooms have that lived-in comfort that makes you want to actually relax rather than just crash between sightseeing sessions. You know what’s nice? The attention to detail — everything from the furnishings to the way natural light filters through the windows feels thoughtfully considered. It’s not trying to be something it’s not, just a well-designed space that happens to sit in one of the world’s most beautiful cities.

Exploring from Here

The thing about staying at Cà Paola Cozy Venice Apartment is that you’re positioned perfectly for both the must-see sights and the hidden gems. Sure, you can walk to the Doge’s Palace or catch a vaporetto easily enough, but you’re also in prime territory for stumbling upon those tiny campos where locals actually hang out. The Castello district has this wonderful mix of residential life and historic significance — you’ll pass the same neighborhood café every morning where the same regulars gather, and somehow that becomes part of your Venice story too.

Why Guests Love It

With a 9.3 rating, this place clearly hits the mark for travelers who want authenticity without sacrificing comfort. What guests consistently mention is how the apartment strikes that perfect balance between being in the thick of Venice while still offering a peaceful retreat at the end of long days of exploring. The location score of 10.0 isn’t just about proximity to attractions — it’s about being embedded in the real fabric of the city. You’re not just visiting Venice when you stay here; you’re actually living in it, even if it’s just for a few days.

Reviews of Cà Paola Cozy Venice Apartment

  • Constance from United States – 4 March 2025 (10/10)

The apartment has not been Ikeified: its furnishings include things apparently collected by the owner, such as a library, nice art on the walls, and some lovely little desks and chairs. I pretended that I really live in Venice: even participated in their Venice's trash & recycling collection system (well documented in English in the apartment.)

The Salizida San Lio is relatively long and a busy street, which means there are lots of restaurants, and shops, not to mention a little grocery store that had everything I needed. All the appliances worked well: washer, hot water, gas stove etc. The bedroom has modern glass windows to block out sound, and more traditional wooden shutters to block out light.

In the morning I could look out the front window to see the pedestrian rush hour of people off to school and work. (Even earlier were the people cleaning the street.) As Carnevale approached there was more tourist traffic, which seemed to peak between early afternoon and early evening. Since there are no real gathering places along the Salizida, the sound of tourists is mostly a continual murmuring sound. (Remember to walk on the right and go single file in narrow areas!)

For daily sightseeing, the walk isn't too long or confusing towards major areas. In one direction is the Rialto and in the other Campo Maria de Formosa. (Of course the less crowded streets are also only steps away.)

(I wish there was a guest book: it would be nice to read comments from other guests who had shared this temporary home.)

What could be improved: Vaporetto stops seem pretty distant when carrying luggage. However, I was able to plot a route to the Alilaguna aeropuerto stop at Ospedale that only crossed two bridges. (Google maps "less stairs" option.)

  • Susan from United States – 9 October 2024 (9/10)

    Good location
    Well equipped
    Nice size rooms
Good introduction and communication with host

What could be improved: Having to dispose of our own garbage

  • Brendan from Canada – 6 October 2024 (10/10)

Huge apartment with a generous living space and large bedroom. You’ll get lots of privacy while still having access to the main Rialto area in seconds. The host (Daniela) was incredibly helpful, and very quick to respond! We actually had some trouble with our initial plans to get to the Venice airport for our departure back to Canada, and Daniela gave us a few alternative options, and even helped us book our last minute transportation!

  • Claire from Australia – 3 October 2024 (8/10)

    – centrally located at the heart of Venice
    – super lovely host
    – cute apartment that’s fully equipped and stocked
    – the washing machine works great

What could be improved: – street noise can be loud on some nights
    – hard mattress
    – very small shower

  • Carolyn from Australia – 1 June 2024 (9/10)

Very close to restaurant and rialto bridge ferry stop made it very convenient. Lots of amenities for the traveller.

  • Jessica from United States – 17 March 2024 (9/10)

We enjoyed our stay at this Cozy Venice Apartment! Very close to Santa Maria Farmosa square, Rialto and not far from San Marco. Very spacious and clean! Staff were also extremely helpful in making restaurant and gelato recommendations.

What could be improved: Can get a little noisy at night if streets are busy. Also required to take trash out to a garbage boat prior to 9:30am. Wasn’t a problem for us because we are early risers but for those who weren’t aware!

  • Jignesh from United States – 26 February 2024 (10/10)

    Location, cleanliness, amenities, furnishing

What could be improved: Windows open to the street and cigarette smoke can get into the appt causing discomfort. This is not an apartment issue though.

  • Alessia from Australia – 5 January 2024 (9/10)

The location of this property was superb for exploring Venice. A big Thankyou to Leo for meeting us at the property, helping us get our bags up the stairs, showing us around and recommending some great restaurants!
Despite being a busy street, you cannot hear much at all from the bedroom and is nice and quiet. The bed and pillows are nice and comfortable also.
It was so nice having access to a kitchen and a washing machine. Such a game changer!
You must try the bakery down the road “Farini”. They are busy but their focaccia are delicious as are the pistachio croissants *chef kiss*.
In the other direction is a fantastic gelato place “Gelateria Gallonetto”.
We loved our stay despite the couple minor grievances and would 100% recommend to others and stay again in the future.

What could be improved: As many others have mentioned, the shower is exceptionally small and tough to navigate. The water is also very sensitive and if you adjust the shower tap even a little bit, the water can go from scalding hot to ice cold in an instance. It could be so much bigger if the bidet was removed and the bathroom renovated.
With the space of the full size apartment it would be great to have a full size ironing board available for use as well. The mini one was quite difficult to use.

  • Carrm1966 from Australia – 2 November 2023 (10/10)

Very comfortable, and such a great location – only a few minutes walk to Rialto and St Marks. All the facilities we needed.

What could be improved: Nothing to say – all good.

  • Aritra from India – 23 October 2022 (10/10)

Very cute apartment located in the heart of Venice. Like all the sights are just 10 min walk away. Its big enough for 4 people.

What could be improved: Doesn't have a lift so be prepared for that. Although being in Venice thay is kind of expected so it's not a big deal.
