Hotel Description
I remember stumbling upon Ca’ Pisani Hotel during one of those misty Venetian mornings last fall – you know, when the fog rolls off the canals and everything feels a bit like a dream sequence from an old movie. I’d just hopped off the vaporetto at the Accademia stop, dodging the usual throng of day-trippers with their selfie sticks, and wandered down Rio Terà Foscarini toward Dorsoduro 979/A. Honestly, this neighborhood is one of Venice’s best-kept secrets if you’re looking to escape the San Marco madness – it’s got that artsy, laid-back vibe with galleries like the Peggy Guggenheim Collection just a five-minute stroll away, and the Zattere promenade nearby where locals actually sip spritzes without the tourist prices jacking everything up. The hotel itself is tucked into this converted 16th-century palazzo, and walking through the door felt like stepping into a stylish time warp – think Art Deco furnishings mixed with original beamed ceilings, all polished wood and velvet textures that make you want to run your fingers over everything. Check-in was a breeze, too; the staff – this one guy named Marco, I think – chatted with me about the best time to hit the nearby Campo Santa Margherita for cicchetti (that’s those little Venetian tapas, by the way), and they even upgraded my room without me asking because it was a quiet week in October.
What really sets Ca’ Pisani apart, though, is how it nails that balance between old-world charm and modern comforts without feeling forced. My room overlooked a narrow rio – well, sort of a side canal, nothing grand like the Grand Canal, but the gentle lapping of water against the stones at night was oddly soothing, drowning out any distant boat horns. The bed was ridiculously comfortable, with those crisp Egyptian cotton sheets that make you hit snooze three times, and the bathroom had this rain shower that washed away the humidity of a long day exploring. Breakfast downstairs is no joke either – fresh cornetti, local cheeses, and espresso strong enough to wake the dead, served in a courtyard that’s blissfully quiet even during high season (though summer crowds can spill over from the Accademia Bridge, so book early if you hate noise). Oh, and there’s a small wellness area with a Turkish bath – I mean, after pounding the pavements all day, steaming away the aches while smelling faint hints of eucalyptus was a godsend. It’s not perfect, mind you; the Wi-Fi can be spotty in the older wings, and if you’re hauling big luggage, those narrow stairs might test your patience since there’s no elevator in parts of the building. But little things like the complimentary afternoon tea with biscotti made it feel personal, like staying at a friend’s elegant townhouse rather than some impersonal chain.
All in all, if you’re heading to Venice and want a spot that feels authentic without skimping on the niceties, Ca’ Pisani is where it’s at. It’s pricey for a 4-star – around 250 euros a night off-season – but worth it for the location alone, especially if you’re into wandering off the beaten path to spots like the Squero di San Trovaso boatyard, where they still build gondolas by hand. I left feeling like I’d actually experienced Venice, not just ticked it off a list, and that’s saying something in a city that can overwhelm you with its beauty and bustle. Go in the shoulder seasons for the best vibes, and trust me, you’ll thank yourself.

Fantastic location – very comfortable room with excellent bed and blackout, and pleasant public areas.
Really helpful staff too.
Ideally placed between Lattere and Accademia ferry stations, but still very quiet. This area of Venice is very nice indeed.
Breakfast very good and restaurant always uncrowded.
What could be improved: My bath/shower was a little difficult to get in and out of (I am a bit crumbly…). I gather there are rooms with a walk-in shower, and I would choose one of those if I stayed here again. Nice cosmetics/shampoo though – not just the stuff in a vat…Annette from Ireland – 14 March 2025 (9/10)
Extraordinarily friendly ,caring, and comfortable. Really convenient from the airport and railstation. The vaporetto stop, Academia is a short distance from the hotel.
The little gifts to our room were appreciated

We had an amazing stay in this superb hotel. I was celebrating my birthday there and the staff did everything to make it extra special – they helped us with booking a restaurant, and surprised us by upgrading our room to a suite and leaving a complimentary bottle of prosecco in the room. The staff were all so helpful, lovely and thoughtful, really exceptional service. The room was fab – huge comfy bed and large bathroom with a separate shower and jacuzzi tub. Excellent buffet breakfast with lots of choice. Loved the gorgeous art deco features and antiques around the hotel. Location wise it was perfect, away from the busy centre in laid back Dorsoduro, but only a couple of minutes from the Accademia bridge across to San Marco and there are two vaporetto stops nearby. Thanks so much for making it an unforgettable trip to Venice, would happily stay again.

Really comfortable room, warm with extremely comfortable bed/pillows. Superb location within short distance of some of the great attractions of Venice. Great value for money. Staff were exceptional with some terrific tips on how to get the most from a short visit to (in my opinion) the most beautiful city in the world. We will definitely return.
