Ca’ San Giorgio B&B Overview
First Impressions
Walking through the narrow streets of Santa Croce to find Ca’ San Giorgio B&B feels like you’re on a treasure hunt — and honestly, that’s part of the charm. This four-star gem sits tucked away from the main tourist chaos, but you’re still just minutes from everything that matters in Venice. The building itself has that authentic Venetian character you hope for, with weathered stone and those classic arched windows that make you feel like you’ve stepped into a postcard.
Location That Actually Works
Here’s what I love about this spot — you get the real Venice experience without the constant crowds pushing past your door. The Santa Croce area is where locals actually live and work, so you’ll find yourself grabbing coffee next to Venetians heading to their jobs rather than just other tourists. You can walk to San Marco in about 15 minutes, but more importantly, you’re close to some incredible neighborhood spots that most visitors never discover. The vaporetto stops are easy to reach too, which honestly makes all the difference when you’re carrying luggage through those bridge-heavy streets.
The Room Experience
I’ll be straight with you — the beds here are genuinely comfortable, not just “good for Venice” comfortable. The room I stayed in had this perfect balance of traditional Venetian style and modern practicality. You know how some B&Bs can feel cramped or outdated? This place actually gets the details right. The bathroom was properly sized (a minor miracle in Venice), and there’s decent storage space for your stuff. Plus, the windows open to let in that canal breeze, which beats air conditioning any day.
Breakfast Worth Waking Up For
The breakfast setup here surprised me — it’s not just the typical continental spread you get at most places. They do this nice mix of Italian classics and international options, with proper vegetarian choices and even gluten-free items if you need them. The buffet style means you can take your time, and I actually found myself lingering over coffee longer than usual. There’s something about starting your day with a proper Italian breakfast that just sets the right tone for exploring the city.
Why Guests Love It
What really makes this place work is how it feels like staying with knowledgeable locals rather than just booking a room for the night. The staff actually knows the neighborhood — they’ll point you toward the good bacaro for cicchetti or tell you which bridge has the best sunset views. Couples seem to particularly appreciate the romantic vibe here, and I can see why. It’s intimate without being stuffy, authentic without being uncomfortable. You’re getting that genuine Venetian experience that’s becoming harder to find, especially at this price point.

Ca’ San Giorgio has a wonderful warm feeling to it. Lovely, nice sized room with a little balcony from which you can see the Grand Canal. Comfortable queen size bed and chairs. Handy having a little fridge too. Perfectly located in a quieter part of Venice but within easy walking distance of the more touristy areas. Also has a supermarket nearby.

A warm welcome awaited us when we arrived at 1pm and as our room was ready we were able to go up to our room that was big and lovely!
Although we didn't need to, when a couple arrived at 10am, the staff were happy to keep the luggage whilst they went to explore. When we checked out, they kept our bags for us until it was time for us to leave.
Breakfast was great and you can just keep asking for lovely coffees!
The location was great, everywhere in Venice is just 15-20 mins walk away. The stop (Stan Stae) on the water bus from the airport is only 6mins walk away!Nicola from United Kingdom – 19 March 2025 (10/10)

The breakfast had a very large selection of various foods which was appreciated. The rooms were very cozy and romantic. We went on Valentines day and had a nice tray with champagne, rose petals and a balloon – which was a very nice gesture.
