Castello 5067 boutique apartment Overview

First Impressions

Walking through the narrow streets of Castello to find Castello 5067 boutique apartment feels like you’re on a treasure hunt — and honestly, that’s part of the charm. This three-star gem sits right in the heart of one of Venice’s most authentic neighborhoods, away from the tourist chaos but still close enough to everything that matters. The building itself has that weathered Venetian elegance you can’t fake, and when you step inside, there’s this immediate sense that you’ve found something special.

The Perfect Venetian Hideaway

What struck me most about this place is how it manages to feel both boutique and homey at the same time. The apartment setup means you get way more space than your typical Venice hotel room — I mean, we’re talking about a city where most places feel like elegant closets. You’ve got a proper living area, and the kitchen is actually functional, which is perfect if you want to grab fresh ingredients from the Rialto market and cook something simple. The design walks that fine line between modern comfort and respecting the building’s historic character.

Location That Actually Makes Sense

Here’s the thing about Castello — it’s where Venetians actually live, so you’ll find yourself sharing morning coffee spots with locals heading to work rather than just other tourists. You’re about a ten-minute walk from St. Mark’s Square, but honestly, some of my favorite moments were just wandering the quiet canals right outside the door. The area comes alive in the evenings when people spill out of the neighborhood bars, and there’s this authentic energy you just don’t get near the main attractions. Couples especially seem to love it here — and I can see why, since it feels romantic without being overly touristy.

Thoughtful Details

The owners clearly put thought into the little things that make a difference when you’re staying somewhere for more than just a night or two. The room has excellent natural light — which is actually rare in Venice — and the bed is genuinely comfortable, not just hotel-acceptable. There’s good water pressure in the shower (trust me, this matters after walking around Venice all day), and the Wi-Fi actually works reliably. I appreciated having a proper coffee maker rather than those tiny hotel pods, and there’s enough storage space that you can actually unpack your suitcase.

Why Guests Love It

That 9.8 rating isn’t just numbers — you can feel it in how well everything works together. The location gives you the best of both worlds: authentic Venice without sacrificing access to the major sights. The space feels like a real home rather than just a place to sleep, which makes longer stays actually enjoyable rather than cramped. And honestly, the value is solid — you’re getting boutique-level thoughtfulness at a price that won’t completely destroy your travel budget. It’s the kind of place where you find yourself planning your next Venice trip before you’ve even checked out.

Venice’s hotels pair butlered gondolas, Murano chandeliers, and concierge-led lagoon hops.

Lorenzo was an extraordinary host who provided us with all the information we needed and made us feel wonderful in his gorgeous apartment.

What could be improved: Everything was wonderful.

  • Finbar from Ireland – 26 February 2025 (10/10)

Fabulous clean, modern apartment in a quiet area but just minutes walk from St Mark's and other attractions. Lorenzo was a super host. Sent excellent directions to finding the apartment as well as recommending best cafes, restaurants and bars to visit.

  • Cristina from United Kingdom – 24 February 2025 (10/10)

This apartment is a gem! The location is fantastic, literally minutes away from Piazza San Marco, in a very quiet area, with a big supermarket and lots of trattorias and osterias around. It was extremely clean and the kitchen well fitted, just perfect for our family of 3.
Lorenzo was extremely helpful, giving us all the necessary details about shortest routes and most convenient ways to explore Venice.

  • Laura from United States – 4 January 2025 (10/10)

Fantastic location. Comfortable beds. Very clean. Safe. Great communication from the owner.

  • Bernardine from Ireland – 22 October 2024 (10/10)

It was perfect. Everything as described on the website

  • Jeremy from Australia – 14 October 2024 (9/10)

Great location in a quieter part of town but still close to plenty of restaurants and bars. Our host Lorenzo was really helpful and easy to deal with. The apartment was clean, tidy and homely.

What could be improved: There is no escaping stairs in Venice so be prepared to walk your bags through the streets and up a flight of stairs to get into the apartment.

  • Katyawatya from Australia – 13 October 2024 (10/10)

A small but very cool apartment with interesting decor, very comfortable beds, a great kitchen and a fantastic bathroom. It was also in a great location, within walking distance to the S Zaccaria vaporetto stop, Saint Mark's Square and lots of restaurants.

What could be improved: All good.

  • Kai from Singapore – 5 October 2024 (10/10)

Thank you so much Lorenzo for your incredible hospitality. Your home was perfect, and we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Your attention to detail and kindness made our stay unforgettable. We felt right at home and will definitely recommend your place to friends and family. We truly appreciate all the thoughtful touches (you let us check out late till 2pm) and your warm welcome (you waited for us till 8.30pm for our arrival to pass us the house key and explain the details).

  • Josie from Australia – 18 September 2024 (10/10)

This is a fantastic apartment in a great location. Lorenzo is an amazing host! He was very helpful with directions, dining recommendations, tips & ideas. He even had juice and a chocolate treat for our 6yo when we arrived, which was a very thoughtful gesture. The apartment was spotless, beautifully decorated and well resourced. We loved our stay here! Thank you

  • Mónica from Spain – 6 September 2024 (10/10)

Venice was the final stop on our 10-day journey through Italy, during which we stayed in apartments booked through Booking.com in each city. Overall, we were very satisfied with the quality of accommodations throughout Italy, but the Castello Boutique Apartment exceeded all expectations.

Located in an old building in the charming Castello district, the apartment is just a ten-minute walk from the most interesting sites. The area is very quiet, yet conveniently close to everything you might need. The apartment itself is beautifully renovated, combining modern style with comfort. It’s full of thoughtful details to make your stay more enjoyable, such as coffee capsules, cold drinks in the fridge, dish soap and dishwasher pods, and even umbrellas in case of rain (which we unfortunately had to use).

Moreover, Lorenzo is a fantastic host. Before our arrival, he sent us photos showing how to reach the apartment from Ospedale station. Getting lost in Venice's narrow streets is easy, but thanks to Lorenzo’s guidance, we found the place without any trouble. He was always available to ensure we had everything we needed and answered all our questions promptly (Lorenzo, I hope we didn’t bother you too much! ;-).

Lorenzo and his apartment truly added the finishing touch to what has been an incredible tour for us. If we ever return to Venice, we will definitely stay at the Castello Boutique Apartment again.
