Corte Nova Overview

First Impressions

Walking through the narrow stone passages of Castello to reach Corte Nova honestly feels like you’re being let in on Venice’s best-kept secret. This four-star boutique hotel sits tucked away from the tourist crowds, yet you’re still right in the heart of everything that matters. The entrance is understated in that perfectly Venetian way — you know, where elegance doesn’t need to shout about itself.

Location & Neighborhood

Here’s what I love about staying in Castello — you get authentic Venice without the circus atmosphere of San Marco. The hotel’s location score of 9.4 isn’t just numbers on a screen; it actually means something when you’re wandering these streets. You can reach St. Mark’s Square in about eight minutes on foot, but when you head back to Corte Nova, it feels like stepping into a completely different world. The neighborhood has real Venetians going about their daily lives, local bakeries that aren’t tourist traps, and those perfect little campos where you can sit with a spritz and watch the world go by.

The Property Experience

What strikes you immediately is how the hotel manages to feel both intimate and sophisticated. The building itself has that weathered Venetian charm — I mean, you’re literally staying in a piece of history here. The staff seems to genuinely care about making your stay memorable, and they’re the kind of people who remember your name and actually have useful suggestions about where to eat dinner. The common areas have this warm, welcoming atmosphere that makes you want to linger with a book or plan your next day’s adventures.

Comfort & Amenities

The rooms strike that perfect balance between historic character and modern comfort. You’ll find original architectural details that remind you you’re in a centuries-old Venetian palazzo, but everything actually works the way it should — the Wi-Fi is reliable, the air conditioning does its job, and the beds are genuinely comfortable. Each room feels thoughtfully designed rather than cookie-cutter, which honestly makes such a difference when you’re trying to recharge after a day of exploring Venice’s maze-like streets. The bathrooms are well-appointed without being flashy, and there’s enough storage space for your belongings (which, let’s be real, isn’t always a given in historic European hotels).

Why Guests Love It

Couples consistently rave about this place, and after staying here, I totally get why they rate the location 9.5 for romantic getaways. There’s something magical about having your own quiet corner of Venice to retreat to, especially when that corner happens to be perfectly positioned for exploring everything the city offers. You’re close enough to the major sights that you won’t spend half your day navigating water buses, but far enough from the crowds that you can actually enjoy peaceful mornings and evenings. The hotel delivers that rare combination of authentic Venetian atmosphere and genuine hospitality that makes you feel like you’ve discovered something special — which, honestly, you have.

Hotels in Venice perch on Grand Canal bends, quiet sestieri, and private lagoon islands.

Reviews of Corte Nova

  • Gvasalia from Georgia – 2 March 2025 (9/10)

Apartment is very comfortable, well-maintained and cosy. Stayed in a 3-bedroom apartment which is a bit far from the main hotel. Location is really good, very quiet and peaceful street with interesting houses. Staff is very friendly and helpful, helped us with many advices.

What could be improved: Small nuances like Bathrobes and slippers not available; there is a kettle but not coffee, only tea was available – these details are nothing compared to the comfort and cleanliness that this place offers.

  • Andreas from Austria – 23 February 2025 (9/10)

The appartement is perectly equiped . We enjoyed our stay verry much . Even during the verry crowded carnival season you have absolute silence around the appartement. A nice supermarked that offers a lot of typical venetian specialties and all other things you need is close to the appartement.
    Hope to be back soon.

  • Wendy from United Kingdom – 26 November 2024 (9/10)

We loved the location. It was slightly away from the main touristy areas and was quieter. There were still a lot of good restaurants nearby and also the Blue line water taxi from the airport to Ospedale stop was really handy. The room was very clean, the bed comfortable. There was a small but useful lift too.

  • Shurooq from United Arab Emirates – 24 November 2024 (9/10)

    Everything! Absolutely amazing!
Wonderful wonderful accommodation with everything ready for you. Incredibly clean too!
Excellent location, very close to the water taxi stops.
The best part of the property: Mr Paolo!
He is VERY helpful! Very kind! And very very friendly. He made the stay very comfortable for us.

Thank you VERY much Paolo and Corte Nova Residence! We will always come back

    What could be improved: Nothing!

  • Irena from Canada – 21 October 2024 (9/10)

Location is prefect, short walking distance to the heart of Venice. Grocery store is just around the corner. Very clean and comfort apartment. We had everything we need . Staff is friendly and helpful.

What could be improved: When booking, just check with the property which floor your apartment is on, if the stairs are the issue, there is small elevator for luggage, going up to the 2nd floor and we were on 3rd. It was not issue at all for us, we managed but just head ups.

  • Malcolm from Canada – 6 October 2024 (9/10)

Excellent facilities, lovely and quiet. Far enough from crowds. Close to ferry. Easy access. Beautiful courtyard. Very peaceful. We explored the streets at night which were crowd-free but cafes and restaurants and some shops still open.

What could be improved: Everything was perfect!
Honestly, there wasn't any issue at all 🙂

  • Kristina from Bulgaria – 4 October 2024 (9/10)

Everything was perfect! The staff is very friendly, the apartment is big and comfortable. It is located at the city centre.

  • Brittany from United States – 3 October 2024 (9/10)

The location was great for seeing the Biennale and also exploring Venice. A grocery store is practically next door. The space was larger and perfect for a longer stay.

  • Palacios from Mexico – 18 July 2024 (9/10)

    Forniture really comfortable and modern.
Really clean and good spaces in bathroom and room.
    Of course I’ll come back!
