The address is tucked away in this quiet little courtyard off Via Terraglio in Mestre, which is basically Venice’s mainland cousin, you know? Not the romantic canals everyone pictures, but that’s kind of the charm – it’s real Italy, with locals grabbing espresso at corner bars and kids playing soccer in the streets. I mean, the place feels like someone’s cozy home that’s been spruced up into a hotel; the name says it all, “Home and Relax.” Walking in, the air had that faint scent of fresh laundry mixed with whatever herbs they were growing in the tiny garden out back – basil, I think? – and the check-in was a breeze, no fuss, just a friendly host named Marco who handed over the keys with a map scribbled with his favorite pizza spot nearby (try Pizzeria da Michele on Via Piave, it’s legit and way cheaper than anything on the islands).

What really won me over were the rooms – spacious, with these big windows letting in that soft Veneto sunlight, and beds that are actually comfortable, not those rock-hard ones you sometimes get in Europe. I stayed in one on the second floor, and it had this little balcony overlooking the courtyard where you could hear birds chirping in the morning instead of tourist chatter. I wandered out one afternoon to the nearby Venezia Mestre train station (it’s like a 10-minute walk, super easy), hopped on a train, and boom, you’re in the heart of Venice in under 15 minutes. Avoid peak hours though, like 8-10 AM when commuters pack it in – learned that the hard way. Back at the hotel, evenings were all about unwinding; they’d set up this little lounge area with books and board games, and I even chatted with a family from Milan who swore by the place for its low-key vibe during high season when the islands are a zoo.

Look, if you’re the type who wants to dive into Venice’s magic without the insane crowds and prices – we’re talking rooms here that won’t bankrupt you compared to San Marco spots – this is your spot. It’s got that 4-star polish with a 9.3 rating for a reason, but it’s not pretentious; just clean, welcoming, and practical. Parking’s available on-site too, which is gold if you’re road-tripping through Italy. Sure, it’s not right on the Grand Canal (and thank goodness, no gondola traffic jams), but that’s what makes it special – a peaceful retreat after a day of dodging selfie sticks in St. Mark’s Square. I’d go back in a heartbeat, especially in shoulder season like April when everything’s blooming and the courtyard feels like your own private oasis.

  Sakin bir yerdeydi. Venedik kanallarina yakin bir mesafedeydi. Evin imkanlari temizligi ve ozellikle arka bahcesi cok guzeldi.

  Das Apartment ist wunderschön und sehr gepflegt.
  Die Terrasse ist sehr Groß und schön eingerichtet.
  Die Ausstattung der Wohnung und sehr ausreichend.
  
  What could be improved: Es wäre super wenn noch eventuell der Boden gesaugt wird da er bei uns schon staubig wäre.
  Und bei uns hat das Feuerzeug nicht funktioniert um denn Gas Herd an zumachen
