DolceVita Apartments N 354 Overview
First Impressions
Walking down Calle dei Preti in the Castello district, you might almost miss DolceVita Apartments N 354 — and honestly, that’s part of its charm. This three-star property sits quietly in one of Venice‘s most authentic neighborhoods, where you’ll hear more Italian than English echoing off the ancient walls. The building itself has that weathered Venetian elegance you can’t fake, with shuttered windows and the kind of worn stone steps that have seen centuries of footsteps.
The Castello Advantage
Here’s what I love about staying in Castello — you’re still absolutely central, but you escape the tourist tsunami that hits San Marco daily. The location score of 8.8 isn’t just numbers on a screen; it means you can walk to St. Mark’s Square in about ten minutes, yet return to streets where locals actually live and work. There’s a fantastic bacaro (that’s Venetian for wine bar) just around the corner, and the morning fish market at Rialto becomes your neighborhood shopping trip rather than a tourist expedition.
The Apartment Experience
Each apartment here feels like borrowing a friend’s place rather than checking into a hotel — which is exactly what you want in Venice, I think. The spaces have character without being fussy, and you get that crucial kitchen setup that lets you shop at local markets and actually cook. The room layouts vary, but they all capture that lived-in Venetian feel with exposed beams and windows that frame slices of canal or courtyard life. Don’t expect massive spaces — this is Venice, after all — but everything feels thoughtfully arranged.
Practical Venetian Living
What really works here is how the place handles the realities of Venice travel. You know how Venice can be overwhelming? Well, coming back to DolceVita feels like retreating to your own little corner of the city. The staff actually knows the neighborhood — they’ll tell you which water bus stops to use, where to find the best coffee, and honestly, which tourist traps to skip entirely. The building stays quiet even during peak season, probably because it attracts travelers who chose Castello specifically rather than just booking anywhere with availability.
Why Guests Love It
The 9.0 rating from couples makes perfect sense once you’ve wandered these streets at sunset. Castello has this romantic, slightly mysterious quality that the main tourist areas just can’t match — narrow bridges over quiet canals, hidden churches, and those perfect Instagram moments that happen naturally rather than at designated photo spots. You’re close enough to everything that matters, but far enough from the crowds to feel like you’ve discovered something special. For a three-star property, DolceVita delivers that authentic Venice experience that costs twice as much in fancier districts, and honestly, the location alone makes it worth considering for your stay.
Venice’s hotels pair butlered gondolas, Murano chandeliers, and concierge-led lagoon hops.

Reviews of DolceVita Apartments N 354
Ingrid from France – 17 October 2024 (8/10)
Irna from India – 8 July 2024 (9/10)
Our check-in assistant was very nice and cordial, he helped us a lot!
Gisela from Mexico – 17 April 2024 (9/10)
Anastasia from Germany – 23 July 2023 (7/10)
Location: easy access to waterbus station, right in the corner of busy street with lots of restaurants, city centre walkable distance. Elena, our contact for the apartment, was very helpful and she made sure to inform everything by the check in. The size is quite cozy for 2-3 people. Bathroom is excellent. Basically if you just need a room to crash for the night, this apartment has it all.
What could be improved: 1. No electric kettle – must use gas stove
2. Have to throw away trash ourselves (otherwise pay extra 20 euro)
3. Only portable AC – window must be opened
4. We have to sort trash but there's only 1 single bin for all trash
5. The stairs.Andrea from Romania – 27 May 2023 (7/10)

Estella from France – 25 September 2022 (8/10)
son emplacement près du vaporetto et des commerces ce fut très pratique
What could be improved: les escaliers et le bruit de la ClimYoung from United States – 14 June 2022 (9/10)
This cosy apartment is located perfectly for visiting the Venice Biennial. I am a simple traveler and don't require too many frills. The location is in between the Giardini and Arsenale, so it made it easy to see everything within a few days. It's also tucked behind an excellent local restaurant Nevodi, and this area is more quiet than other parts of Venice and less full of tourists. I never met the host, but she made communication very clear over WhatsApp for keys and other matters. There is also a daybed which is great if you are traveling with another person.
What could be improved: Wifi at night would go out a few times, but otherwise it was ok. The kitchen doesn't have too many supplies, so I ended up eating out most of the time. I had a late flight arrival from Marco Polo, and unfortunately it would cost me an extra 50 Euros for a late check-in after 9pm PLUS chartering a private water taxi at 100 Euros. Ultimately, I paid for another room near the airport. It may be helpful for other travelers to know about this complication if you have a late evening flight.Eik from Germany – 10 April 2022 (7/10)
