Checking in was a breeze – the host was this friendly local guy who handed over the keys with a quick rundown of the area, warning me about the high tide seasons when the streets can get a bit splashy (acqua alta, they call it, and yeah, it happened once while I was there, turning my walk back into a mini adventure with those rubber boots they lend out).

What really won me over, though, was how the suite itself blends that old Venetian charm with just enough modern comfort to make you forget you’re in a centuries-old building. My room – well, suite, actually – had these exposed wooden beams on the ceiling that creaked a little at night, like the place was whispering stories from the past, and the bed was ridiculously plush, with linens that felt like they were woven from clouds. There’s a small kitchenette too, which came in handy for brewing coffee in the mornings while listening to the distant hum of boats on the Grand Canal (it’s only a five-minute stroll away, past that little campo with the church where locals grab their espresso). The bathroom’s got this sleek marble setup, but fair warning, the water pressure can be finicky – sort of a Venice thing, I guess, with all the ancient plumbing. No elevator, so if you’re hauling heavy bags up the stairs, pack light or ask for help; I learned that the hard way after a day exploring. But the views from the window? Overlooking a quiet courtyard with potted geraniums and the occasional pigeon cooing – it beats the tourist-packed spots near San Marco hands down. And noise-wise, it’s surprisingly peaceful here in Santa Croce, away from the main crowds, though you might hear church bells or a gondolier singing faintly in the evenings, which honestly adds to the magic.

Look, if you’re heading to Venice and want something that feels authentic without the over-the-top luxury price tag (it’s 4-star, rated a solid 8.6, but expect to pay accordingly in peak season like June), Eden’s a smart pick. You’re steps from the train station for easy day trips to places like Murano, and wandering to Rialto Bridge is a leisurely 15-minute walk along Rio Nuovo, dodging fewer selfie sticks than in Dorsoduro. I wouldn’t call it perfect – the Wi-Fi dipped out once during a rainstorm, and it’s not ideal if mobility’s an issue with those stairs – but it left me with that warm, “I get Venice now” feeling.   It's a fabulous property… very well equipped for a short or long stay for families or otherwise… strongly recommended for families..
  
  Only issue is the location is a little far from the train station…so if you are carrying a heavy luggage then it may be an effort to reach there…but anyone with light luggage then it's just perfect….
  
  Barely 100 steps away you have COOP convenience store. It is fully loaded with all the requirements. So it makes the stay super comfortable.
  
  Marta has provided excellent facilities in the property. Only thing is, unlocking three gates of the property will give you a thrill of a treasure hunt .
  It's good for the safety of the tourists, but it takes time to locate the property, then the gate and then open the locks.
  
  If Marta can place the name board outside at the gate, it will be of great convenience of the tourists.

  Super cute apartment, just big enough for our family of 4. Super helpful host, always responded quickly and friendly. Great location near canal, restaurants, and shops. Nice little courtyard for coffee. Ground floor, no stairs to cope with inside building.

  Very kind and helpful host. Nice welcome presents, Lavazza koffee was really good. 😄 For us location was perfect as we arrived by train. The apartmant was very clean and well equiped. We liked the small garden very much. Arrival was flexible as we got the keys from a key safe. Again, for us it was perfect as we arrived after 8 PM.
