Eurostars Residenza Cannaregio Overview

First Impressions

Walking into Eurostars Residenza Cannaregio feels like discovering a well-kept secret in Venice. You know how most hotels in the city either try too hard to be palatial or feel like they’re stuck in the 1980s? This four-star property actually strikes the right balance — it’s polished without being stuffy, and there’s something refreshingly understated about the whole place. The entrance on Calle Dei Riformati doesn’t scream for attention, which honestly makes finding it feel like a small victory.

The Cannaregio Advantage

Here’s what I love about staying in Cannaregio — you’re close enough to all the major sights but far enough from the cruise ship crowds that descend on San Marco every morning. The hotel sits in what locals consider one of the best neighborhoods in Venice, and I can see why. You can walk to the Rialto Bridge in about ten minutes, but when you want to escape the tourist madness, you just duck back into these quieter canals where actual Venetians still live and work. There’s a fantastic bacaro just around the corner that most visitors never find.

The Room Experience

My room was exactly what you’d hope for in Venice — not huge (let’s be realistic here), but thoughtfully designed with those high ceilings that make everything feel more spacious. The windows actually open properly, which might sound basic but you’d be surprised how many hotels seal you in with air conditioning that fights a losing battle against Venetian humidity. I mean, there’s something magical about hearing the city wake up through your window — the gentle lapping of water, footsteps on stone bridges, the occasional gondolier calling out to tourists.

Morning Fuel

Breakfast here is honestly better than it needs to be. They do this continental spread that includes proper Italian pastries — not the sad, plastic-wrapped stuff you get at some places. The buffet setup works well, and they’ve got gluten-free options that don’t feel like an afterthought. What really impressed me was the coffee — they take it seriously here, which in Italy should be a given but somehow isn’t always the case at hotels. You can grab your espresso and actually sit down to plan your day without feeling rushed.

Why Guests Love It

The location score of 8.5 isn’t just a number — it reflects something real about how this place works for travelers. Couples especially seem to get it, rating the location even higher, probably because Cannaregio has this romantic, lived-in feel that the more touristy areas have lost. You’re staying somewhere that feels authentically Venetian while still having easy access to everything you came to see. The staff seems to understand that balance too — they’re helpful without being hovering, and they actually know the neighborhood well enough to point you toward the good stuff that isn’t in every guidebook.

Early hotels booking in Venice secures balcony seats for Vogalonga regattas and torchlit basilica tours.

Reviews of Eurostars Residenza Cannaregio

  • Kirsty from United Kingdom – 29 March 2025 (9/10)

Beautiful little hotel with wonderful very helpful staff

  • Miglė from Lithuania – 13 March 2025 (9/10)

The hotel exceeded our expectations! Great location, comfortable and clean room, friendly staff. A perfect place to stay in Venice. Highly recommended.

  • Madalina from Romania – 11 March 2025 (8/10)

The location is a little bit far from the main attractions, but it is in a quiet neighborhood. Also there is a "vaporetto" stop very close to the hotel. The room was modern, with two levels. Breakfast was rich and tasty.

What could be improved: Boys wanted to see a Real Madrid UCL match in one of the evenings. Not sure how is the availability of such matches in Italy, but although the TV had more than 100 channels, none was transmitting UCL.

  • Wejden from Malta – 8 February 2025 (7/10)

Very nice view, comfortable room and so calme ☺️

What could be improved: No activity to do in the hotel it gets boring not even bar or restaurant we had to order food from out side

  • Rhea from Greece – 22 January 2025 (9/10)

The price was definitely more reasonable than most especially since we stayed there during the holiday season so we were already expecting for the prices to be high. The rooms were also huge and the beds were comfortable. They may need a bit of upgrading of facilities but it doesn't really mean that the current rooms are not good enough.

What could be improved: While we chose the place because of the price and because we saw that it's in a quieter area, since my companions were my parents who are a bit older now, I failed to estimate that the location would still feel quite far from the main attractions of the city. However, it's still good that it's still somehow near the water bus stops.

  • Karina from Estonia – 15 December 2024 (8/10)

    Everything.

What could be improved: A bit cold, air conditioner was working only on the second day.

  • Stacey from United States – 18 November 2024 (8/10)

Location, room was clean and nice, super helpful staff.

What could be improved: The room was way too hot, called the front desk and they turned it down but it went back up, we had both windows open and it was still sweltering, it was set at 26.5 & we couldn’t control it, also were able to hear normal conversations in the rooms next to us.

  • Monika from United Kingdom – 5 November 2024 (9/10)

Beautiful location and hotel, very friendly staff! We were so happy we chose to stay in Cannaregio which is just a little bit further out of busy area.

What could be improved: The property did not have iron or ironing board available.

  • Mark from Australia – 2 November 2024 (9/10)

Location is fantastic, So quiet and tranquil but close to everything. The room was also really good, comfy bed and separate well-appointed bathroom. The buffet breakfast provided is sumptuous! 5-minute walk to San Alvise Vaporetto stop,
