Garden in Venice Biennale Overview

First Impressions

Walking up to Garden in Venice Biennale feels like discovering a secret that locals have been keeping to themselves. This four-star boutique property sits tucked away in Castello — honestly, one of my favorite sestieri because it’s where actual Venetians still live and work. You know what struck me first? The quietness. I mean, you’re still in Venice, but the constant tourist chatter fades to a gentle hum here.

Location Magic

The location is absolutely brilliant, and I’m not just saying that because couples rate it a perfect 10. You’re literally a few minutes’ walk from the Biennale gardens, which means you can actually enjoy the art exhibitions without fighting through crowds from San Marco. The Arsenale is right there too — perfect for those early morning walks when the city belongs to the street sweepers and coffee bar owners. What I love is that you can stroll to all the major sights, but when you want to escape the madness, you just slip back into this peaceful corner of Castello. The neighborhood truly offers the best of both worlds for any visitor.

The Property Experience

The hotel itself has this understated elegance that feels refreshingly authentic. Each room has been thoughtfully designed — no cookie-cutter corporate feel here. The staff actually remembers your name, which sounds small but makes such a difference when you’re navigating Venice’s maze-like streets and need genuine local advice. I particularly appreciated how they handle the whole Venice logistics thing — you know, the water taxi arrangements and luggage transport that can stress you out if you’re not prepared.

Neighborhood Charm

What really sets this place apart is how it connects you to authentic Venetian life. There’s a fantastic local bacaro just around the corner where gondoliers grab their morning coffee — the kind of place you’d never find without staying in this neighborhood. The morning market stalls along Via Garibaldi become part of your daily routine, and suddenly you’re buying fresh fruit from vendors who start recognizing you. It’s that rare Venice experience where you feel like a temporary resident rather than just another tourist passing through.

Why Guests Love It

The 9.6 rating makes perfect sense once you’ve stayed here. It’s the combination of being close enough to everything that matters while feeling completely removed from the chaos. Couples especially seem to get it — there’s something romantic about having your own quiet corner of Venice to retreat to each evening. The property manages to deliver that boutique hotel intimacy while keeping you connected to the city’s rhythm. Plus, let’s be honest, when you can walk to the Biennale in minutes and still feel like you’ve discovered some hidden Venice that most visitors never see, you know you’ve found something special. This is truly a remarkable destination.

    – Great location, close to the center, easy get to the airport, there are many shops and restaurants nearby;
    – Very nice apartment, it's spacious, bright and clean, in real life
    looks even better than on photos;
    – The apartment has everything you need;
    – The apartment has its own backyard with a beautiful view to the canal;
    – Very nice hosts, Loredana and Marta, friendly, attentive and polite.

    What could be improved: – There were some problems with the heating system, it periodically turned off completely. It was very cold, especially at night. It would be nice to have a small floor heater for emergencies, so that it could be quickly warm up at least the bedroom.
