Hotel Description
You know, the first time I stumbled upon GKK Exclusive Private Suite Venezia, I was weaving through the narrow calli of San Polo after hopping off a vaporetto at San Silvestro – honestly, it’s one of those spots where you feel like you’ve ducked into old Venice, away from the tourist crush around San Marco. The address is right on San Polo 1451, tucked into this lively but not overwhelming sestiere, where you can hear the faint hum of market vendors from the nearby Rialto Bridge in the mornings, or catch the scent of fresh fish and espresso drifting from the campo. I mean, Venice is all about getting lost, right? But this place makes it easy to navigate – no cars to dodge, obviously, just a short walk from the train station if you’re lugging bags, though I’d recommend a water taxi if it’s high season and the alleys are packed. Check-in was a breeze; the host met me at the door with a glass of prosecco, which felt like a warm hug after the ferry ride. It’s not some massive hotel lobby – more like stepping into a friend’s elegant apartment, with those high wooden-beamed ceilings that creak just a bit underfoot, adding to the charm.
What really sets this 4-star gem apart – and yeah, that 8.6 rating doesn’t lie – is how it blends that exclusive, private vibe with authentic Venetian touches. The suite itself is spacious, with these plush velvet armchairs that you sink into after a day of pounding pavements, and windows overlooking a quiet canal where you might spot a gondolier gliding by at dusk (pro tip: ask for a room facing the water if you’re a light sleeper, as the back ones pick up less of the early-morning boat traffic noise). I loved the little kitchenette – well, sort of a full setup actually, with a Nespresso machine that saved me from overpriced café runs – and the bathroom had this massive rain shower that felt luxurious after sweating through July heat. It’s not perfect, mind you; the Wi-Fi can be spotty during peak hours when everyone’s streaming, and there’s no elevator, so pack light if stairs aren’t your thing. But those details? Like the fresh linens that smell faintly of lavender, or the way the light filters through lace curtains in the afternoon – they make it feel lived-in, not sterile. Oh, and if you’re into history, it’s a stone’s throw from the Frari Church, where you can pop in for Titian’s masterpieces without the long lines.
All in all, if you’re chasing that intimate Venice experience without the gimmicks, this is your spot. It’s pricier in summer when the crowds swarm the Grand Canal, but off-season, like in November, it’s quieter, cozier, and you get that misty magic without the hassle. I’ve stayed in flashier places, but honestly, GKK made me want to linger – sipping wine on the terrace, watching the city pulse by. You won’t regret it if you’re after something real, you know? Just remember to wander over to Campo San Polo for a spritz at sunset; it’s the local ritual that ties it all together.

Perfect romantic stay in Venezia – Dana from Czech Republic – 6 June 2025 (10/10)
The locations is excellent, steps away from the Grand Canal and right in the center of old Venice, Everything is in easy walking distance.
The hotel itself is small and beautiful. Our room on the second floor looks exactly like the pictures with blue textile wallpaper, terazzo floors, chandelier… All the details are carefully considered.
Breakfast in your room at a time of your choice (order a day earlier from an extensive menu) arrives on time, and has nice touches, like all the pastries are warmed up in the oven. Delivered by a really nice lady, too.
I cannot fault this hotel for anything and would gladly stay there again.
What could be improved: Everything was great, I cannot find anything negative.Perfect for Venice, 17min walk from the train station, very clean and it was easy to get into the hotel even they don’t – Johanna from United Kingdom – 28 May 2025 (10/10)

Loved this place; a little oasis in a whirling city of culture of th renaissance world. – Teresa from Ireland – 11 May 2025 (10/10)
I loved the atmosphere of this part of Venice. Lovely artisan shops and food options. So elegant and yet so friendly, locals and tourists all seemed very much at home there…which is very rare in a city context.
What could be improved: It was very crowded once we ventured towards the Rialto Bridge area.Clean , good location – Paula from United Kingdom – 15 April 2025 (8/10)
Our room had no natural light as it was on a walkway . The bed was comfortable , but it was a Murphy pull out of a cupboard bed so the pillows drop down the back .
There was not a hairdryer in the room
The breakfast was choosen the night before and delivered to the room in the morning . It was a nice selection.GKK Suites – Evelyn from United Kingdom – 5 April 2025 (8/10)
It was clean, breakfast very good, I shd have upgraded my room, but that was my own fault, but otherwise it was fine, although they did not have a receiption they always answered quickly on WhatsApp when you needed help
