Hotel Bisanzio Overview
First Impressions
Walking into Hotel Bisanzio feels like stepping into a well-kept Venetian secret. The entrance is tucked away on a quiet street in Castello, and honestly, you might walk past it if you’re not paying attention — but that’s part of its charm. This four-star property has that authentic Venice vibe without trying too hard, you know? The lobby isn’t massive or flashy, but there’s something genuinely welcoming about the traditional decor and the way the staff actually remembers your name after the first day.
Location & Getting Around
I mean, the location is pretty much perfect if you want to experience Venice like locals do. You’re in Castello, which is honestly one of the best neighborhoods to stay in — it’s got that residential feel but you’re still walking distance from everything that matters. The Arsenale is literally around the corner, and you can reach St. Mark’s Square in about ten minutes on foot. What I really appreciated was how easy it was to find decent restaurants nearby that weren’t tourist traps. The area gets quieter in the evenings, which is actually a blessing when you want to escape the crowds.
The Room Experience
My room was smaller than what you’d get in a chain hotel — this is Venice, after all — but it was thoughtfully designed. The bed was comfortable, and the bathroom had been recently updated with modern fixtures. You’ll get air conditioning that actually works (trust me, this matters in summer), and the windows open onto either the canal or the quiet street below. The decor strikes a nice balance between traditional Venetian style and modern comfort, though don’t expect a huge workspace if you’re traveling for business.
Breakfast & Dining
The breakfast setup is where Hotel Bisanzio really shows its personality. They serve a proper Italian continental spread with fresh pastries, local cheeses, and coffee that’s actually good — not the watery stuff you sometimes get at hotels. The buffet isn’t enormous, but everything feels fresh and well-curated. I found myself looking forward to the morning routine of sitting in their small dining area, planning the day ahead. There’s no on-site restaurant for dinner, but honestly, with Venice’s incredible food scene right outside your door, you don’t need one.
Why Guests Love It
What makes this place work is the combination of location and authenticity — you’re staying somewhere that feels genuinely Venetian rather than like a generic hotel that happens to be in Venice. The staff knows the neighborhood well and gives solid recommendations for everything from morning coffee spots to evening aperitivo bars. Couples especially seem to love it here (and I can see why — the romantic factor is definitely there), but it works just as well for solo travelers or friends exploring together. The 8.5 rating feels about right — it’s not trying to be the fanciest place in town, but it delivers exactly what you want from a Venice stay.

Reviews of Hotel Bisanzio
Sophia from United Kingdom – 26 March 2025 (9/10)
Beautiful property showcasing Venetian beauty.
Michael from United Kingdom – 18 February 2025 (7/10)
The hotel is beautiful, the staff are very pleasant, location is great. The room size is good for a hotel in Venice, we saw some reviews beforehand about the rooms being dark and small but we were very happy. Very comfy beds, living room was great also. Breakfast was good, not got everything but had something for everyone.
What could be improved: Only really one thing for us let it down, there was no coffee/tea making facility in the room. There is a minibar but nothing else. To be fair we did ask for a kettle at reception and they accommodated us so i'm pleased but naturally i just think a kettle would be great at standard. Only other thing is there isnt really any socialising place, a very small bar but not really. But overall the hotel was lovely and we are happy.Anna from United Kingdom – 2 February 2025 (9/10)
Location excellent and good for ease of arrival/departure. Staff were very helpful. Comfortable and quiet with very good breakfast.

Location and breakfast
What could be improved: At night duty there is staff on reception desk. He is not gentle and he is very rude.Candida from United Kingdom – 25 January 2025 (9/10)
Staff lovely, helpful and friendly
What could be improved: Floors in bedroom very creaky 🤣Cagri from Turkey – 2 December 2024 (8/10)
Location was excellent, breakfast was good and consistent with how it was last year. The room and terrace were quite lovely and clean.
What could be improved: The only thing that was a bit disappointing was the front desk. Professional and efficient, but not very friendly or attentive. They did not give us any info when we arrived or ask how things were when we left. Last year, we had a great stay (which is why we came again.) The front desk last year was much friendlier and more helpful.Capovani from Italy – 30 November 2024 (9/10)
Excellent level, helpful staff very central
Jamileh from Canada – 17 November 2024 (9/10)
The location, cleanness, staff
What could be improved: The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. However, it wasn’t in the hotel I had reserved; instead, it was in a two-room suite in an alley next to the hotel. This was not mentioned in the reservation.Elena from Switzerland – 10 November 2024 (9/10)
Amazing staff and location! Has a very classic Italian vibe
