I mean, the location really is everything here — couples consistently rate it 9.7 out of 10, and after spending time in the area, I totally get why. You’re literally in the heart of everything that matters in Venice, but on a quieter side street that locals actually use. The Rialto Bridge is just a few minutes’ walk, and you can reach St. Mark’s Basilica in about the same time. What I love is that you can slip back to the hotel between sightseeing without feeling like you’re trekking across the entire city.

The Room Experience

The rooms at Hotel Casanova have that classic Venetian character — think rich fabrics, warm wood tones, and those little touches that remind you you’re staying in a historic building. Each room feels different (which is typical for these converted palazzos), so you might get lucky with original frescoed ceilings or charming canal glimpses. The bathrooms are modern enough to be functional, though don’t expect sprawling marble suites — this is Venice, after all, where space is at a premium and charm makes up for square footage.

Morning Fuel

Breakfast here actually works really well for different travel styles. They’ve got a proper buffet spread if you want to sit down and plan your day over coffee, but they also offer breakfast to go — which is brilliant if you’re trying to beat the crowds to the Doge’s Palace or catch an early vaporetto. The coffee is properly Italian strong, and there’s enough variety to keep you happy whether you’re a pastry person or need something more substantial before a day of walking on cobblestones.

What really sets this place apart is how it balances being right in the action without feeling touristy or overwhelming. You can stumble back after dinner in a nearby bacaro (those little wine bars locals frequent) without navigating confusing bridges and dead-end streets. The staff seems to understand that Venice can be intense, so they’re genuinely helpful with directions and recommendations rather than just pointing you toward the obvious attractions. It’s the kind of place where you feel like you’re staying in Venice rather than just visiting it — if that makes sense.

  What could be improved: Had to ask for additional bedding as I was cold, only 2 pillows, and would be good to have a kettle.

  Very good location for sightseeing. Staff were helpful and friendly. Breakfast was slightly limited in choice but what was available was enjoyable.

  Very central we could walk everywhere . Good luggage storage . Nice staff ( apart from night man ) . Room was large .
  
  What could be improved: Directions take you to LV shop not hotel rang hotel no help it was early hours in the morning freezing , wet and baby in tow ( hotel is only down lane from LV shop hope this helps ) Carpets were stinking dirty (stains ) . Tv was NOT smart so no good unless you speak Italian . No kettle or tea coffees .

  A perfect location – 100 m.from San Marco square, with good breakfast and friendly staff; A little bit noisy at night, but regarding location is tolerable.

  Very nice hotel just a short stroll from the piazza San Marco, clean, very comfy and spacy room, nice bad, good breakfast, nice personnel. Very quite at night. Overall perfect stay.

  What could be improved: All about the accommodation was good, though we had some communication problem (English) We were robbed on the way to the hotel so our overall view of Venice was tainted from the start.

  Hotel Casanova is very well located, just a few steps from Piazza San Marco. The room is super cozy and has all the necessary amenities. The hotel staff is wonderful. Especially the front desk staff, they were super helpful and kind!
