You know what I love about staying in Venice here? Dorsoduro feels like where actual Venetians live, not just where tourists pass through. The Zattere promenade stretches right outside your door — perfect for morning runs or evening strolls when the light hits the water just right. You’re walking distance from the Peggy Guggenheim Collection and the Accademia, but more importantly, you can actually breathe here. The crowds thin out significantly once you cross over from San Marco, and suddenly Venice feels manageable again.

The Room Experience

My room overlooked the canal (definitely worth requesting), and I mean, waking up to gondolas and water taxis instead of car horns — it’s pretty special. The rooms aren’t huge, but they’re thoughtfully designed with classic Venetian touches. Some have small balconies, others just great windows, but either way, you’re getting that water view that makes the whole trip worthwhile. The bathrooms are compact but functional, and honestly, you’re not spending much time inside anyway when Venice is right outside.

Dining and Daily Rhythms

The hotel’s restaurant terrace is where things get interesting — it extends right over the water, so you’re literally dining above the canal. I had dinner there twice, and both times felt like I was in on some local secret. The food is solid Venetian fare, nothing revolutionary, but the setting makes everything taste better. Breakfast is served on the same terrace when weather permits, and starting your day watching the city wake up over coffee and pastries… well, it sets the right tone for exploring.

  Lovely quiet location situated away from the crowded tourist areas around St Marks etc. but still close enough to reach on foot. Gave me the opportunity to see some parts of Venice that otherwise I may not have seen. Beautiful setting on the water. Arrived well before check in time but my room was unexpectedly ready. Had a delicious dinner in the restaurant.
