Hotel Liassidi Palace Overview
First Impressions
Walking into Hotel Liassidi Palace feels like discovering a well-kept secret tucked away in the Castello district. This four-star property sits right on Ponte Dei Greci, and honestly — the location alone makes it worth considering. You know what struck me first? The intimate scale of the place, which feels refreshingly personal compared to some of the larger hotels you’ll find around Venice. The hotel’s position in this quieter corner of the city offers a genuine escape from the crowded tourist zones.
The Perfect Venetian Hideaway
The Castello neighborhood is actually where locals still live and work, not just the tourist-heavy areas you might expect. From the hotel, you’re literally steps from authentic bacari (those little wine bars locals love) and maybe a five-minute walk to St. Mark’s Square when you want the classic Venice experience. I mean, couples consistently rate this location a 9.4 out of 10, and after spending time here, that makes complete sense. You get the real Venice vibe without sacrificing access to the main attractions. This balance of authenticity and convenience is what sets the neighborhood apart.
Sleep Quality That Actually Matters
Here’s something that really matters when you’re dealing with jet lag or long days of walking on cobblestones — the beds are genuinely comfortable. Not just hotel-marketing comfortable, but the kind where you actually sleep well. The room I stayed in had that perfect balance of Venetian character (think exposed beams and period details) without feeling like you’re sleeping in a museum. The windows open to quiet canal views, which is surprisingly rare in this part of the city. Guests consistently mention the quality of sleep as a highlight of their stay.
Morning Fuel Done Right
Breakfast here covers all the bases with continental, Italian, and buffet options. What I appreciated was the mix — you can go full Italian with proper espresso and cornetti, or stick with familiar options if you’re not feeling adventurous first thing in the morning. They actually source some items locally, which you notice in the quality of the pastries and coffee. The dining area overlooks a small courtyard, so you’re not rushed through your morning routine. This attention to detail in the morning sets a positive tone for the entire day.
Why Guests Love It
Look, Venice can be overwhelming, and finding a place that feels like a genuine base rather than just a place to crash makes all the difference. The staff here knows the neighborhood — they’ll point you toward the good gelato place locals actually use, or suggest which vaporetto stop to avoid during rush hour. With an 8.5 overall rating, it’s clear other travelers appreciate this balance of authentic location, solid comfort, and that personal touch that makes Venice feel manageable rather than chaotic. It’s the kind of place where you’ll actually want to return in the afternoon rather than dreading another night in a generic hotel. The combination of service, location, and comfort creates an experience that lingers long after you leave.
To book a hotel in Venice during Biennale openings, guests juggle Giardini previews with lagoon aperitivo cruises.

What could be improved: The room did not have any view and the breakfast was average.Hogg from United Kingdom – 14 March 2025 (9/10)

The balcony view was amazing. All staff were professional and friendly. The breakfast choices were excellent. The locality was great for ease of getting around.
What could be improved: The shower head was spurting water in every direction. Also, the whirl pool bath only worked for the first use. We didn't complain because we loved our room and view. However, we did neutron these issues on leaving.Juliet from United Kingdom – 8 February 2025 (9/10)

I have walked by this hotel for years on many previous trips to Venice, and finally stayed there because the midweek rate in November was within my budget. My room was very comfortable and the staff was great. I love the location, near the Arsenale and the home of my friends.

The location was great! We took a water taxi from the airport right to the front door. Wonderful restaurants right on the canals are close by. It was a ten minute walk to San Marcos. Staff was friendly and helpful. I would absolutely stay here again.
