Hotel Sant’Antonin Overview
First Impressions
Walking down the narrow Fondamenta Furlani in Castello, you’ll spot Hotel Sant’Antonin tucked away in what honestly feels like one of Venice‘s best-kept secrets. This three-star property sits right in the heart of the Castello district — and I mean that literally, since couples consistently rate the location a perfect 9.6. The entrance is understated in that classic Venetian way, where you’re never quite sure what you’ll find behind those weathered doors until you step inside.
The Castello Advantage
Here’s what I love about staying in Castello — you’re close enough to San Marco to walk there in minutes, but far enough away that you actually get to sleep at night. The neighborhood has this authentic feel where you’ll pass locals heading to work in the morning rather than just tour groups with selfie sticks. From the hotel, you can easily reach the Arsenale or take a pleasant stroll along the waterfront. The area around Fondamenta Furlani is particularly quiet, which explains why guests rave about getting such good rest here.
Sleep Quality That Actually Delivers
You know what’s rare in Venice? A hotel room where you actually sleep well. The beds here have earned serious praise from guests, and after experiencing Venice’s typical thin walls and street noise elsewhere, I get why people are so impressed. The rooms aren’t huge — this is Venice, after all — but they’re thoughtfully designed and surprisingly peaceful. Most importantly, the windows do their job of keeping out the early morning sounds of delivery boats and chattering tourists.
Breakfast Worth Waking Up For
The continental breakfast here goes beyond the usual sad croissant situation you often find at smaller Venetian hotels. They’ve got a proper buffet setup with gluten-free options, which is honestly refreshing since dietary restrictions can be tricky to navigate in Italy. I particularly appreciated that they understand not everyone wants to hunt down a café first thing in the morning — sometimes you just want to fuel up and get moving, especially when you’re trying to beat the crowds to the major sights.
Why Guests Love It
The location score of 9.6 isn’t just a number — it reflects how perfectly positioned this place is for exploring Venice without feeling overwhelmed by it. You’re in the sweet spot where you can walk to the Doge’s Palace or St. Mark’s Basilica, but you can also discover the quieter campos and local bacari that make Venice special beyond the postcard views. The fact that couples particularly love it tells you something about the romantic, peaceful vibe of the area. Plus, with an overall rating of 8.9, guests clearly appreciate the balance of comfort, location, and value that Hotel Sant’Antonin delivers.

Reviews of Hotel Sant’Antonin
Luann from United States – 23 February 2025 (9/10)
The staff were so welcoming and helpful. They helped a friend locate her lost purse left on a water taxi (after prayers to Anthony of course); it was found intact They also facilitated a water taxi to get us from hotel to train station in a timely fashion during Carnival opening. Beds were comfy and the bathtub was a bonus

We would highly recommend Hotel Antonin. We had a large, airy room for 3 with a part view of the canal at the front of the hotel. The receptionist was charming and breakfast was excellent, in a pretty space overlooking the garden. An easy walk to the Ospedale Vaporetto stop from which you can catch the Linea Blu to Marco Polo airport. We will return!

Staff always happy and helpful – all of them! Breakfast good. Really nice tranquil enclosed garden. 10 mins walk from San Marco square. Really nice, not crowded, local and affordable eateries for all tastes and prices within walking distance. Well away from the crowds by the Rialta.

Perfect location for our first time in Venice, easy walk from the Ferry drop-off from the airport, locations for tours, and just to walk around and experience amazing Venice, a good central spot. The hotel lobby is a few steps away from one of the canals. Breakfast had most anything you would want and beautiful spot to start the day.
What could be improved: Room was very tiny so they suggested to contact the hotel next time to ensure a larger room. I'm going to ask booking that question. Ours was last minute so maybe the last room. The front desk made a point to say sorry for the small room upon check-in. Since we were in Venice to experience the area the room size was fine for our trip, next time we would like to experience a room with large windows overlooking the garden.Khadijah from Canada – 19 December 2023 (9/10)
A very cozy and quaint property within a few minutes walking distance to St. Mark's Square and San Zaccaria/San Marco boat stations. Exceptional breakfast and customer service…great value for money.
