Hotel Description
You know, I stumbled upon Incanto Venice kind of by accident last spring, when I was wandering through Cannaregio after getting off the vaporetto at Ca’ d’Oro – that’s the stop right by the Strada Nova, where all the little shops and bakeries spill out onto the street, and honestly, it’s way less crowded than the San Marco crush. The hotel’s tucked away on this narrow calle at Cannaregio 5677, just a quick stroll from the Rialto Bridge but far enough that you don’t hear the constant hum of tour groups snapping selfies all day. I mean, Venice can feel like a theme park sometimes, especially in high season from May to September, but this spot in Cannaregio – it’s more like the real neighborhood where locals actually live, with kids playing in the campielli and the occasional whiff of fresh bread from that pasticceria around the corner on Rio Terà San Leonardo. Checking in was a breeze; the staff were these warm Italians who chatted about the best time to hit the nearby Jewish Ghetto for a quiet walk (early morning, before the crowds), and they even hooked me up with a map marked with hidden gems – no upsell, just genuine tips.
What really got me about Incanto was how it nailed that old Venetian vibe without feeling stuffy or overdone. The building’s got this centuries-old stone facade, all textured and cool to the touch, and inside, the rooms are surprisingly spacious for Venice – mine overlooked a tiny canal where you’d hear the soft lap of water against the walls at night, sort of lulling you to sleep (though, fair warning, if you’re a light sleeper, the church bells from Santa Maria dei Miracoli chime early). The decor’s a mix of modern comforts and antique touches, like those heavy velvet curtains that block out the midday sun – perfect after a day dodging gondolas. Breakfast was solid, nothing extravagant, but the cappuccinos were spot-on, and they had fresh cornetti that reminded me of the ones from the market stalls near Campo Santa Margherita. Oh, and practical stuff: no parking worries since, well, it’s Venice – everything’s by foot or boat – but they store luggage if you’re arriving early from the train station, which is about a 15-minute walk away. It’s not flawless; the Wi-Fi dipped a bit in the evenings when everyone was online, and the air con hummed louder than I’d like in summer heat, but for a 4-star spot with an 8.6 rating, it punches above its weight.
All in all, if you’re after a place that feels authentic without skimping on comfort, Incanto’s a gem – especially if you want to escape the tourist traps and dive into Cannaregio’s quieter rhythms. I spent evenings just sitting on the bridge over Rio di San Felice, watching the sunset paint the water orange, and it made the whole trip memorable. You’d be smart to book ahead for shoulder seasons like April or October, when the rates dip and the city’s magic really shines through. Trust me, it’s the kind of hotel that makes you want to linger a little longer in Venice.

What could be improved: Good morning, it’s been a pleasure to stay in your accommodation these days. We,ve enjoy the place and the location is best. The only bad thing was Mariia. She wasn’t very kind with us. We tried to contact her by telephone and whatsaap because we arrive sonner than we expect and it wasn’t posible. We wait for her just in front the hotel and when we finally contact her and we made the check-in, we were asked to pay 70€ for “late fee” for which we don’t have any receip. We don’t understand this amount of money. Of course all Of these after we paid 48€ for the tourist taxes.
We will complain in the same way to booking sending this message.
Thank you for your attention.Arnel from United Kingdom – 15 February 2025 (8/10)
The location was great because it was easy to walk around Venice. The apartment itself was nice, clean, and spacious.
What could be improved: The property management was not good. After booking on Booking.com, I was told to contact a third party for the key and details because the owner was not in Venice. They asked me to go to another website and provide personal information, which felt unnecessary and insecure. When you’re on vacation, you want things to be easy, not stressful. If they fix this, it would be a good place to book for a stay in Venice.Jelena from Latvia – 29 October 2024 (8/10)
Location is amazing
In the heart of Venice
With great view from the windows on the channel with gondolas.
Separate living room from the kitchen
What could be improved: The second bathroom is very small and it’s not connected or even close to the bedroom, it’s behind the kitchen.
It’s already getting cool at nights, so it was really cold in the apartment. The pre heating was not turned on, and when we contacted saying that the blankets are very thin for such temperature in October – nothing was offered, no additional blankets or throws.
Only one set of keys were given. For two couples it’s inconvenient.
The dishwasher hardly washes. We had to wash all dishes by hand after turning it on several times.
Kitchen is for 5 people max.Josh from United States – 3 March 2023 (9/10)
The property was in a great location and easy to get to – a quick walk from the train station. The managers/owners were easy to communicate with and very friendly, and the property was very clean and well stocked with basics. It felt like the property was recently renovated and felt very comfortable. The wifi was also very fast and reliable.
What could be improved: There were a few minor fit/finish issues with one of the shower doors (hard to close) – but that's minor and I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.Nagahashi from United States – 17 August 2022 (9/10)
Great location, apartment has everything you need for a comfortable stay.

Spacious and well equipped apartment, great location.
What could be improved: Very smelly couch. We had an issue with extra bed that was brokenJanina from Romania – 9 June 2023 (8/10)
The apartment was in a small square, easy to access, we received clear and concise indications from our host, very close to Rialto Bridge and San Marco Square.
What could be improved: Cleaning could be better, it was superficially done, and I didn't like that. Also, for the apartment to be a true value for money, the host could be kind enough to offer at least sugar for the morning coffee. Some small details( sugar, mosquito repellents- because the apartment does not have mosquito nets), for which i don't need to run to the supermarket can make the difference. I am relating my experience, as travelers with kids. Also the baths smell( dunno if its the drainage or the air vents, but they smell bad).Anonymous from Canada – 29 August 2022 (9/10)
excellent location, very spacious and modern, clean
What could be improved: we liked everything!Brulé from France – 27 February 2025 (8/10)
La situation de l'appartement, près du Rialto, entre le Cannaregio et San Marco, vraiment idéale pour explorer Venise. Appartement très propre, très confortable et bien décoré.
What could be improved: Rien, tout était super.
