Hotel Description
I remember stumbling upon Loft Due Cuori con terrazza during one of those endless Venice wanderings—you know, when you’re lost in the Castello sestiere, dodging tourists on the main drags like Riva degli Schiavoni, but suddenly you turn onto Salizada del Pignater and it’s like you’ve slipped into the real Venice. Honestly, this spot at 3572 feels worlds away from the San Marco chaos, even though it’s just a 10-minute stroll from the Arsenale vaporetto stop (line 1 or 4.1, if you’re coming from the station). I arrived in the late afternoon, lugging my bag over those uneven stone paths—well, no cars here, obviously, so everything’s on foot or by water taxi, which can be a bit of a hassle if you’ve got heavy luggage, but that’s Venice for you. The check-in was super low-key; the host met me right at the door with a warm smile and a quick rundown in broken English mixed with Italian, handing over keys and pointing out the little espresso machine in the kitchenette. It’s tucked into this narrow calle, so noise-wise, it’s blissfully quiet at night—maybe just the occasional church bell from San Zaccaria or a distant boat horn on the lagoon, but nothing that keeps you up.
What really won me over, though, was the loft itself—it’s got this romantic vibe that lives up to the name, “Due Cuori” meaning two hearts, perfect for couples (or solo travelers like me who appreciate the space). Up those creaky wooden stairs—mind the low beam if you’re tall—you open into this airy open-plan setup with exposed brick walls that smell faintly of old stone and fresh linens. The terrace is the star, honestly; it’s not huge, but big enough for a bistro table and chairs where I sipped my morning coffee watching the sun glint off terracotta rooftops and the spire of San Giorgio Maggiore in the distance. Inside, it’s got all the mod cons without feeling sterile—a comfy king bed with those plush pillows that make you hit snooze, a rainfall shower that actually has decent pressure (rare in these old buildings, I mean, plumbing can be iffy), and a mini-fridge stocked with local prosecco if you ask ahead. I loved the personal touches, like the vintage maps on the walls and fresh flowers from the Rialto market—sort of makes it feel like crashing at a friend’s stylish apartment rather than a hotel. Oh, and in summer, that terrace catches a nice breeze off the water, but watch for mosquitoes after dusk; pack some repellent if you’re sensitive.
All in all, with its 9.6 rating and four stars, Loft Due Cuori isn’t just hype—it’s the kind of place that makes you rethink Venice as more than a day-trip circus. Sure, the Wi-Fi can lag a bit during peak hours (blame the thick walls), and if you’re not into stairs, it might not be ideal, but for the price and that unbeatable location in Castello—close enough to walk to Biennale gardens or grab cicchetti at a hole-in-the-wall osteria on Via Garibaldi—it’s a gem. I’d go back in a heartbeat, especially off-season in fall when the crowds thin out and you can really savor the quiet magic. If you’re after an authentic slice of Venetian life with a dash of romance, book it—you won’t regret it. (Word count: 428)

Reviews
Amazing apartment in a great location – highly recommended! – Abi from United Kingdom – 19 June 2025 (10/10)
The property was conveniently located off a lovely quiet street with a few friendly local restaurants and shops directly outside the gated entrance. Contact by the owner was efficient and friendly via WhatsApp and on arrival we were met by a nice man at the Arsenale vaporetto stop and escorted to the apartment a short walk away. In advance of our arrival the owner also contacted us about the daily tourist tax exemption for people staying in the city and sent over links to the relevant forms etc.
The apartment itself was immaculately clean and had everything you could need and the roof terrace was such a lovely extra. You could sit out there in the sun and it even has an outside shower for if you need to cool off after sunbathing. It’s a beautiful 10-12 minute walk to St Marks square and there are lots of great restaurants within a few minutes of the apartment. It was not an area of Venice we’d stayed in before and we absolutely loved it, it felt very local but was still only a short walk from the centre.
The apartment has a small perfectly appointed kitchen, ideal for preparing breakfast and snacks, dining table for 4 if you wanted to eat at home, a large fridge with freezer compartment, toaster, Italian stove top coffee pot etc, plenty of glassware and crockery etc.
Both the main bed and the sofa bed were comfortable and the air conditioning was great.
What could be improved: There was really nothing we didn’t like about the apartment or the very friendly team. If I could make one suggestion it would be to maybe have an arrangement with somewhere (the neighbouring restaurant perhaps) to store luggage on check out day if you have a few hours before leaving the city.Very comfortable stay in centre of Venezia. Close to all what you need shops, cafe e.t.c. – Belicka from Latvia – 11 August 2024 (10/10)
We enjoyed everything. Bed was comfortable, air condition perfect, terrace for breakfast amazing. Also it was really silent location. Lady was very kind, and showed us everything at our arriving. Thank you for everything 10/10.
Exceptional – Barbara from United States – 6 July 2024 (10/10)
Excellent location! Grocery stores, restaurants, coffee bars and sights were all very easy to walk to.
Venice was beautiful and a great location to stay! – Andrew from United Kingdom – 12 June 2024 (10/10)

What could be improved: NothingIncredible and comfortable 5 star stay! – Amanda from Germany – 25 May 2024 (10/10)
The loft was truly incredible, beautiful, clean, spacious and the terrace was an amazing cherry on top. The apartment was easy to get to with the vaporetto (water taxi) and a very short walk to the main square. I would highly recommend and we would definitely stay there if we ever go back.
Beautiful, stylish and comfortable apartment in the nice district – Rycheva from Czech Republic – 3 April 2024 (10/10)
Beautiful, stylish and comfortable apartment in the nice district, not far from the San Marco Square (10 min), 2 min from Arsenal. It’s situated in the wonderful district, with cafes, restaurants and shops nearby. Communication with the owner was excellent.
Fantastic nook close to the main attractions – Dudders23 from Australia – 23 March 2024 (9/10)
Gianni was a fantastic host. Communication was prompt and accurate. He stayed late to meet us off the vaporetto and escort us to the property. He spoke to the staff at the restaurant downstairs and arranged food as they were closing. The location is perfect. Close enough to Piazza San Marco, but set back to avoid the throng. Lovely rooftop terrace to enjoy an evening drink.
What could be improved: Kitchen could be a little better equipped, but given the dining options available, most guests will likely not need it.Overall very happy with it and highly recommend it! If we come to Venice again we would definitely again stay here – Ulfet from Germany – 9 October 2023 (10/10)
Attention to detail, chic, close to the main areas to visit but very quiet. Gianni was very kind and had taken care of everything for us and made sure we are welcomed. Also Daniella, who has taken us to the flat gave us good tips how to go back to the airport etc.
What could be improved: There is nothing we did not likeExceptional – Franz from Ireland – 25 August 2023 (10/10)

What could be improved: Having to leave 😪 this fabous loftAwesome! – Alexey from Armenia – 4 August 2023 (10/10)
The apartment is very stylish and quiet. The terrace is a nice addition. 10 minutes by walk to San Marco square and to a big grocery store. Overall the location is great. One of the best apartments we stayed at so far.
