I remember stepping off the vaporetto at Ca’ d’Oro – you know, that stop right in the heart of Cannaregio, where the Grand Canal feels a bit more lived-in and less like a postcard – and weaving through those narrow calli to find LOVERSINITALY Romantic Apartments. It’s tucked away on Cannaregio 5461, just a stone’s throw from the Strada Nova, which is basically Venice’s version of a bustling high street with its mix of old-school bacari (those tiny wine bars where locals grab a spritz and cicchetti) and that one gelateria that’s always got a line out the door in summer. Honestly, arriving after a long train ride from Milan, I was wiped, but the check-in was a breeze – no stuffy front desk, just a friendly host who met us with keys and a quick rundown in broken English-Italian mashup. The building’s got that classic Venetian charm, all weathered brick and creaky wooden beams, but watch your step on the stairs; there’s no elevator, which is par for the course in these old palazzos, I mean, it’s Venice after all. We got there in early evening, right as the church bells from nearby Santa Maria dei Miracoli started chiming – sort of sets a romantic tone without even trying.

What really sold me on this place – and it’s rated a solid 9.1 for good reason – is how it’s designed for couples who want that intimate escape without the San Marco crowds. Our apartment was the one with the altana, this rooftop terrace that’s like your private perch over the city, complete with views of terracotta roofs and the occasional seagull gliding by. We’d sip prosecco up there at sunset, the air thick with that salty canal scent mixed with distant frying onions from someone’s kitchen below – authentic Venice, not the tourist trap version. And the jacuzzi? Oh man, it’s outdoors on the terrace, bubbling away under the stars; we soaked in it after dodging the July heat, which can get brutal, but Cannaregio stays surprisingly cool and quiet compared to the Rialto madness just a 10-minute walk away. The interior’s cozy too – think exposed beams, a king bed that swallows you up, and a little kitchenette stocked with basics (though we mostly ate out at places like Osteria Anice Stellato, hidden around the corner for killer seafood pasta). It’s not huge, well, sort of compact like most spots here, but that adds to the romance – no room for distractions. One minor gripe: the Wi-Fi can be spotty during peak hours, but who needs it when you’ve got that view?

Look, if you’re planning a trip to Venice and want something more personal than a big chain hotel, this 4-star gem in Cannaregio is where it’s at. It’s perfect for anniversaries or just rekindling the spark – we left feeling like we’d actually lived a slice of local life, not just visited. Skip the overpriced gondolas and wander to the Jewish Ghetto nearby for some history; it’s all walkable, and in shoulder season like October, the whole area feels like your own secret.   The location is outside the busy and touristy centre of Venice whilst it's very close to various ferry stations. We received a bottle of good Prosecco during our welcoming and we really like the design of the place!!

  We loved the terrace, the jacuzzi, the bed, living room, bathrooms and the prosecco left for us by the property owner. The space is mostly great.
  
  What could be improved: It would have been nice if the kitchen had been a bit more equipped, given that there’s a terrace where one might want to eat one’s homemade food.

  The accomodation exceeded our expectations. The room was very clean and comfortable. The property owners are very helpful and responsive.

  Beautiful modern condo. great that it had an elevator. High end finishes and great patio. Keyless entry was great and preferred. no dragging around a key or having to meet somebody at a certain time at the condo. Nice personal touch of the bathrobes, slippers and bottle of Prosecco.
  
  What could be improved: The stairs were awfully narrow to be able to bring our luggage upstairs so we left our clothes in the living room. better lighting on the patio would be nice. Because they are solar lights they don’t stay on very late and only half of them were working.

  The apartment was really cool. Probably our second favorite. There was nice touches like a free bottle of champagne, Teo robes and slippers, oh the bathroom had full on sets of things like dental set, sewing kit, etc. It was really cute. I loved the spot staircase. That was a big reason for booking it, idky why i love them. Oh and of course the balcony is so cute. Lights come on, on their own. I wish we were a little higher up but do Good views. Finally, people kept taking photos just to the left of the apt where this tiny ally is. Maybe it's famous for being the most narrow alley (like Prague has, but no stop light).

  What could be improved: Not too much bad. The tube water gets very hot. I guess I wish it was a little bigger but two people fit (of youre not too big).
  There is a steep ladder to the balcony, not everyone could do it but we did fine. Up is easier than down.
  I guess really? The only bad part is how thin the walls are. I assume that's why they have the rule about no jets After 12 am. We actually didn't run the jets at all, once we realized how thin the walls are. You can certainly hear neighbors. Luckily it wasn't hard falling asleep or anything but that is something to be aware of. You should be pretty quite to respect the people that live there.
  The couch isn't very comfy but the bed is fine. The living room is we designed, I loved the light features.

  Tout était parfait, c’est un coin de paradis. De supers équipements! Très qualitatifs. Très facile d’accès. La terrasse est magnifique et le bain à remous est un vrai plus! En prime une bouteille de proseco nous a été offerte à notre arrivée. Rien à dire.
