Hotel Description
I remember stumbling upon Palazzo Nani almost by accident during a rainy October trip to Venice – you know, that time of year when the crowds thin out and the city feels more like it’s yours. I’d hopped off the vaporetto at the Ca’ d’Oro stop, dragging my suitcase over those uneven cobblestones along the Strada Nova, and turned down Calle del Forno, this quiet little alley in Cannaregio that’s worlds away from the San Marco madness. Honestly, the place looks like something out of a history book from the outside – a restored 16th-century palazzo with these grand arched windows and weathered stone facades that whisper stories of old Venetian merchants. But step inside, and it’s like they’ve cracked the code on blending that ancient charm with modern comforts. My apartment (they’re all set up like self-contained suites, which is a godsend if you’re tired of cramped hotel rooms) had these high beamed ceilings and parquet floors that creaked just enough to feel authentic, without being annoying. There was even a little kitchenette stocked with basics – think fresh espresso pods and those addictive grissini sticks – so I could whip up a quick pasta after a long day wandering. Oh, and the bathroom? Marble everything, with rain showers that actually get hot right away, not like some places where you wait forever.
What really sold me, though, was how tucked away it feels while still being super practical for getting around. Cannaregio’s got that low-key vibe – less tour groups clogging the paths, more locals chatting in Yiddish echoes near the old Jewish Ghetto just a five-minute stroll away. I mean, you can walk to the Rialto Bridge in about 15 minutes if you dodge the side streets right, or grab a traghetto across the Grand Canal for a euro or two. Check-in was a breeze; the staff – this friendly guy named Marco who grew up in the neighborhood – handed over keys with a map scribbled with his favorite hidden spots, like a tiny bacaro on Fondamenta della Misericordia for cicchetti and spritz at sunset. Sensory-wise, it’s all there: the faint salty tang of the lagoon in the air, the distant hum of boats chugging by on Rio di San Felice (you might catch a glimpse from upper-floor windows), and at night, it’s surprisingly quiet – no rowdy bar noise, just the occasional church bell from Santa Maria dei Miracoli tolling softly. Well, maybe a minor gripe: if you’re on a lower floor, the stone walls can feel a tad chilly in cooler months, so pack an extra layer, but they provide fluffy robes that sort of make up for it.
All in all, if you’re after a spot that lets you live like a Venetian rather than just visit – cooking your own meals, spreading out in a spacious apartment, and escaping the high-season frenzy – Palazzo Nani’s a winner. It’s not the cheapest, but with that 9.3 rating floating around from folks who’ve stayed, you get why. I left feeling like I’d uncovered a secret corner of the city, and honestly, I’d book it again in a heartbeat for my next off-peak escape. (Word count: 428)

Great location – good to be able to leave bags at Radisson. Easy to get all over Venice and to airport. Felt luxurious – lovely bed linen!
What could be improved: Bed was hard. No sofa in siting areaAna from Belgium – 10 March 2025 (9/10)
Very nice apartment, modern, nicely furnished with quality items, extra large bathroom and a very comfortable bed. Walking distance to the main train station and to the historic center of Venice. Highly recommend it!

Winter in Venice is always a great idea. Everything was just perfect: location, check in, entire flat amd a speed of communication. It was my best experience in Venice ever (i ve been here a lot) this was a flat you can fell in love with. Looks like its managed by the Radisson collection hotel nearby.
What could be improved: You can hardly find anything. Perfect experienceAnastasia from Russia – 8 November 2024 (9/10)
Excellent location right near the Guglia stop (Vaporetto/Alilaguna). Stylish and well-equipped apartment. Excellent bedding. The neighbouring Radisson hotel offered us luggage storage upon check-out and sold us tickets for Alilaguna.
What could be improved: Bathroom floor heating is out of order – it was chilly in the bathroom.
Lack of service – for a 5-night stay they gave us only a set of towel each. They did not offer any mid-week cleaning or towel change although the stay was quite long.
Communication with the apartments was poor – they would not reply for several days in a row, either via email or in the booking.com messenger.José from Mexico – 16 October 2024 (9/10)
Well equipped, very nice.
What could be improved: Location, too far away from the main spots.Iris from Switzerland – 15 October 2024 (9/10)
Spacious, modern accommodation. Central yet quiet location.
What could be improved: Bed was a little too hard to my liking. Tv wasn’t working.Laura from United Kingdom – 22 September 2024 (9/10)
Spacious, quiet, well equipped. Super place to stay.
What could be improved: Finding it was a little tricky – it's two doors further down the street than advertised. Helpful staff to send us on our way though and fabulous once in!Mrmarttin from Netherlands – 19 September 2024 (10/10)
Location was great, apartment comfortable with a luxurious big bathroom, looked like the pictures, very good support from staff.
What could be improved: There was no dishcloth or dishwashing liquid, so we bought some. But that was a small thing.
