The building itself has that authentic Venetian charm — you know, the kind where you feel like you’re staying in someone’s beautifully restored palazzo rather than a typical hotel.

Location & Neighborhood

Honestly, Dorsoduro is where I’d want to stay if I were planning a romantic getaway in Venice. It’s got this quieter, more residential feel compared to the chaos around San Marco, but you’re still close enough to everything that matters. The Peggy Guggenheim Collection is practically around the corner, and you can walk to the Accademia Bridge in about five minutes. What I really love about this area is how you’ll find these little local cafés and wine bars tucked away on side streets — places where actual Venetians go for their morning coffee.

The Room Experience

The room I stayed in had those canal views that the property name promises, and let me tell you, waking up to gondolas drifting past your window never gets old. The space feels authentically Venetian with period details, but they’ve clearly updated everything that actually matters — the bathroom was modern and spacious, which isn’t always a given in these historic buildings. There’s something special about having your morning espresso while watching the light change on the water outside.

You know what really sets this place apart? It’s that perfect balance between being in the heart of Venice but not feeling like you’re in a tourist trap. The staff clearly knows the neighborhood well — they gave me directions to this amazing little bacaro that I never would have found on my own. And that 9.9 rating isn’t just for show; the attention to detail is impressive without being fussy. The whole experience feels more like staying with well-connected friends than checking into a hotel.

I can absolutely see why couples rate this place so highly for romantic trips. There’s something inherently intimate about having those canal views all to yourself, especially in the evening when the light gets all golden and the water traffic slows down.   To live momentarily on the Gran Canal was very special. To be so close to Accademia Bridge was handy. Bright interiors, comfy furniture and beds ( no tired old furniture) . Loved having our own private dock. The host is a professional. She and her team meet you when you arrive and respond quickly when you have a question. After traveling through Italy for 3 weeks, we loved having a washer/dryer for our clothes and a workable dishwasher. Nice appliances, dishes and wine glasses. Best of all not packed with “stuff”.

  The easy communication with the owner and support team , the wonderful location, the cleanliness and all the thoughtful details that Marta put on this property- an absolutely wonderful place!!

  Marta and her assistant took very nice care of us. The apartment is very comfortable, spacious, and clean. The kitchen is perfect for cooking, and equipped with a dishwasher as well. The two bathrooms make it ideal for couples or families traveling together, and the location cannot be beaten. Beds are very comfortable, but one bedroom has a double bed made up of two twins, so there is a small gap to be aware of if you're a couple traveling together. All in all it's a fantastic apartment in an incredible location. Totally worth it, and we'll definitely come again!
  
  What could be improved: There are several fees in the case of late check in which are not listed on the booking.com website, and I would suggest adding these to prepare the guests so they can organize their travel arrangements accordingly.
