Maison Boutique Al Redentore Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Maison Boutique Al Redentore on Giudecca island, you immediately sense this isn’t your typical Venetian hotel. The building has this understated elegance that feels refreshingly different from the sometimes overwhelming grandeur you find around San Marco. It’s a four-star property, but honestly, the attention to detail makes it feel more special than that rating suggests. The entrance is intimate — you know you’re somewhere that actually cares about creating a genuine experience rather than just processing tourists.
The Giudecca Advantage
Here’s what I love about staying on Giudecca — you’re still very much in Venice, but you escape the crushing crowds that can make the main islands feel claustrophobic during peak season. The vaporetto ride to San Marco takes maybe ten minutes, and there’s something magical about approaching the city from the water each time you return. Couples seem to get this immediately (the hotel mentions they rate the location 9.3, which honestly doesn’t surprise me). You can actually walk along the waterfront here without constantly dodging selfie sticks, and the views back toward the Doge’s Palace are absolutely stunning, especially at sunset.
The Room Experience
My room had this perfect balance of Venetian character and modern comfort that’s surprisingly hard to find in the city. The design feels thoughtful — not trying too hard to be trendy, but definitely not stuck in some dusty historical theme either. What really impressed me was the quality of everything, from the linens to the bathroom fixtures. The windows actually open properly (you’d be amazed how rare this is), and if you’re lucky enough to get a canal view, well, you’ll understand why people fall in love with this city. The soundproofing is excellent too, which matters when you want to sleep in after a long day of wandering.
Morning Rituals
Breakfast here is one of those experiences that sets the tone for your entire day. They offer Continental, Italian, and buffet options, but what makes it special is the setting and the quality of ingredients. I mean, when you’re having your morning coffee with views of the Giudecca Canal, even simple pastries taste better somehow. The Italian breakfast items are particularly good — they source locally, and you can tell. It’s not rushed either; you can actually linger and plan your day without feeling like you need to vacate your table for the next wave of guests.
Why Guests Love It
The 9.4 rating this place has earned makes complete sense once you’ve stayed here. It’s that rare combination of location, service, and atmosphere that creates something memorable rather than just functional. The staff genuinely seems to enjoy helping guests discover Venice beyond the obvious tourist traps — they’ll point you toward that little bacaro where locals actually drink, or suggest the best time to visit certain churches when they’re not packed. You’re paying for the experience of staying somewhere that feels like a well-kept secret, even though it’s perfectly accessible. For couples especially, there’s something romantic about having your own peaceful corner of Venice to return to each evening.

Reviews of Maison Boutique Al Redentore
Alexandra from Australia – 2 April 2025 (9/10)
We chose this Hotel on the Island immediately opposite San Marcs Square. With a quick ferry trip you can escape the crowds and bustle of Venice. The building is a beautifully converted Abbey with a gorgeous view over looking the Abbey's garden next door which is rare in Venice. Breakfast was varied and plentiful and the staff were perfect. The Hotel is located quite near the Ferry for access to the main Island.

The property is across the bay away from Venice proper. I loved that part the most because it was very quiet. You do have to take a water taxi to get around which is actually fun to do. The property is beautiful and wonderful staff. Great breakfast with lots of options
What could be improved: Absolutely nothing. It’s a 5 minute walk from the water taxi drop offGregory from United States – 20 March 2025 (10/10)
The garden room with patio was amazing. The room was large enough and had huge arched doors leading to a very nice semi private patio. The hotel was updated and very clean. Reception was fantastic and held our luggage while we explored on the day of our checkout. The breakfast was very good and went until 11:00 on Saturday. They offer a later checkout and we were able to extend ours until early afternoon. Overall, we loved the hotel and it's location off of the beaten path.
What could be improved: We would have liked more counter space in the bathroom, but due to the round pedestal sink, there was very little available. Also, I did not care for the round modern toilet or sink design, that is a personal preference though.Paola from Italy – 6 March 2025 (10/10)

Appreciate that I was given a room earlier which allowed me to proeperly rest after my journey.
Stunning views from the room to the Gardens were superb.
What could be improved: Overall great experience, minor suggestions for the future:
1. the bed was moving because it was on the wheels
2. No moistuirizer in the beauty set (in winter and with heavy heating it would be apprecaited!)Neha from India – 27 December 2024 (10/10)
It's a beautiful property, an absolute gem. It is clean, relatively spacious and well maintained. We loved waking up to the scenery outside. Staff is very nice and cheerful, and the breakfast was fresh and delicious too. I am definitely going back there!
