Mimi’s loft Overview
First Impressions
Walking through the narrow calli of Dorsoduro to reach Mimi’s loft, you honestly feel like you’re about to discover something special — and you’re not wrong. This four-star property sits right in what locals consider the most authentic part of Venice, away from the tourist chaos around San Marco but still incredibly well-connected. The moment you step inside, there’s this immediate sense that someone actually cares about this place — it’s not just another cookie-cutter accommodation.
The Dorsoduro Advantage
Here’s what I love about staying in this neighborhood — you’re literally surrounded by some of Venice’s best-kept secrets. The Peggy Guggenheim Collection is practically around the corner, and you can walk to the Accademia Bridge in about five minutes. But honestly, what makes this location brilliant is how it feels during different times of day. Mornings are peaceful with locals heading to work, evenings bring this lovely aperitivo culture, and you’re never fighting crowds just to get home. Couples especially seem to get this — there’s something romantic about having your own quiet corner of Venice while still being in the heart of everything.
The Space Itself
The apartment setup here really works well — you get that authentic Venetian living experience without sacrificing comfort. The space feels thoughtfully designed, with enough character to remind you where you are but modern touches that actually matter (like reliable Wi-Fi and proper lighting). What struck me most was the attention to detail — someone clearly thought about how real travelers use a space. You know what I mean? There are places to actually unpack, good surfaces for your morning coffee, and the kitchen setup is practical if you want to grab fresh ingredients from the Rialto market.
Getting Around
The vaporetto connections from this part of Dorsoduro are actually fantastic — you can hop on at Ca’ Rezzonico or Accademia depending on where you’re headed. I mean, Venice is walkable anyway, but having those water bus options when your feet need a break is clutch. Plus, there’s something satisfying about taking the traghetto across the Grand Canal like locals do — it’s right there when you want to pop over to San Polo or Santa Croce for dinner.
Why Guests Love It
That 9.8 rating honestly makes sense when you experience the place yourself. It’s one of those properties where everything just… works. The location gives you authentic Venice without the tourist trap feeling, the space feels like a real home rather than a sterile hotel room, and you’re positioned perfectly to explore both the major sights and the hidden gems. Dorsoduro has this wonderful mix of art, culture, and everyday Venetian life that you simply can’t get in the more obvious neighborhoods. When you’re staying here, you’re not just visiting Venice — you’re actually living in it for a few days.
Venice’s apartments welcome families with vaporetto passes, kitchenettes for market hauls, and bridges leading to Lido playgrounds.

A perfect location, in a quiet neighbourhood, but with easy access to transport, supermarket and places of interest. The apartment was very spacious. The best place we have ever stayed in Venice!
What could be improved: Nothing.Shaun from United Kingdom – 17 July 2023 (10/10)
Our second stay in Mimi’s loft. fantastic location, amazing views and a fabulous roof terrace. The family who own the apartment are lovely, so helpful and accommodating.

Absolutely everything!
Have just spent one week in this beautiful, authentic venetian apartment in a great location. Amazing rooftop terrace with stunning views. Pietro met us at water taxi and was the most welcoming, helpful host.Andrew from Spain – 22 May 2023 (9/10)
The location was perfect with everything accessible on foot or by a short vaporetto ride. The views from both the apartment and it's rooftop terrace are outstanding. I have more photographs of San Giorgio Maggiore than I care to count.
What could be improved: It would have been helpful if someone had turned off the rain so that we could have enjoyed the rooftop terrace more.Margret from Germany – 18 May 2023 (10/10)
We spent the most fabulous week in Mimi’s Loft, celebrating our wedding anniversary and meeting our daughter and her friend. No accommodation could have been better than this: spacious, flooded with light and with a spectacular view on the Lagune to Isola Giudecca – one can’t describe the beauty of this outlook. For the four of us the flat was ideal, though a fifth person easily could have stayed. – We were welcomed in the friendliest way by Pietro and his father Alessandro who introduced us in this spotlessly clean Loft, explained anything and gave us advice where to go. Conversation by email and contact before couldn’t have been better, as Paola always answered timely to any request, especially when a flight was cancelled and we had to rearrange data of stay. This host can be recommended without compromises and we certainly will come back.

Stunning position overlooking the water

Paola and Fosca's hospitality above all expectations. Kindness and empathy are one of the many words I could use to describe their sense of hospitality
The Loft: I've been in many places around the world and seen many hotels…Mimi's loft is by far one of the most tasteful, beautiful , and comfortable place I have slept in. Th e charm of the place do the rest. Everything is perfect and air conditioning is everywhere
The Terrace: what a view..! Sometimes windy… but it was an every day wonder to see this busy laguna. From the Loft, every window is like an animated painting.
What could be improved: Uuh…the screams of the seaguls while I was having a nap on the terrace 🙂Chris from United Kingdom – 9 June 2022 (9/10)
Fantastic property. A very special experience to stay at Mimi’s Loft. Paola was very helpful and there to greet us, despite our plane being delayed.
What could be improved: Be aware of the two flights of stairs if you are staying with older people.
