Numa Venice Palazzo Orseolo Overview
First Impressions
Walking into Numa Venice Palazzo Orseolo feels like discovering a well-kept secret tucked away in San Marco. The building itself has that authentic Venetian charm — you know, the kind where you can actually feel the history in the walls without it being too museum-like. It’s a four-star property that doesn’t try too hard to impress, which honestly makes it more appealing. The lobby area is intimate rather than grand, and there’s something refreshing about checking into a place that feels more like a sophisticated Venetian home than a typical tourist hotel.
Location & Neighborhood
Here’s the thing about the location — it’s absolutely unbeatable. Campo Sangallo puts you right in the heart of Venice without the crushing crowds you’ll find around St. Mark’s Square (though you’re literally a two-minute walk away when you want to be there). I mean, couples consistently rate this spot 9.6 out of 10, and after spending time in the area, I totally get why. You’re surrounded by authentic bacari where locals actually eat, and the narrow streets leading to the hotel feel genuinely Venetian rather than touristy. The Rialto Bridge is an easy stroll, and you can reach the vaporetto stops without dragging your luggage too far.
The Room Experience
The rooms strike that perfect balance between modern comfort and Venetian character. Each room feels thoughtfully designed — not cookie-cutter corporate, but not trying so hard to be quirky that it becomes uncomfortable. The beds are genuinely comfortable (which isn’t always a given in historic buildings), and the bathrooms are well-appointed without being flashy. What I really appreciated was the attention to soundproofing — Venice can get surprisingly noisy with all those footsteps echoing off stone, but you’ll sleep well here. The views vary depending on which room you get, but even the interior courtyard views have their own quiet charm.
Daily Rhythms
Mornings here feel particularly special because you’re starting your day in the real Venice before the day-trippers arrive. The staff genuinely knows the neighborhood — they’ll point you toward the best coffee spots (skip the touristy places and head where they suggest) and can give you actual insider tips about timing your visits to major attractions. There’s no full restaurant on-site, but honestly, that’s part of the appeal. You’re in Venice — you want to be out exploring the incredible food scene, not eating hotel food. The front desk team is helpful without being overly formal, and they seem to actually care about making your stay work well.
Why Guests Love It
What really sets this place apart is how it manages to feel authentically Venetian while still meeting modern expectations for comfort and service. You’re not sacrificing convenience for character or vice versa. The location score of 9.7 isn’t just marketing speak — you really can walk to everything that matters while staying somewhere that feels like the real Venice. It’s the kind of place where you’ll find yourself planning your next trip back to the city before you’ve even checked out, partly because you’ll want to stay here again.

Amazing location. Very comfortable.
What could be improved: I did not like the texting with a robot . Very impersonal and unhelpful robot! No way to leave luggage and firm check in of 3 pm. A outside hard to find.Victoria from United Kingdom – 17 November 2024 (8/10)
Great central location for exploring Venice! Check in was easy, good communication from the host. We stayed in the medium room with canal view which was spacious and comfortable!
What could be improved: The shower wasn’t the best for power but if you’re only staying a few nights it’s manageable! Also bad smell from bathroom but I guess that’s a Venice thing not the properties fault! There is building work going on until 30th November which if you’re only using the apartment as a base won’t be an issue but if you plan on spending long periods in the apartment it could get annoying!Irina from Russia – 8 November 2024 (9/10)
As already mentioned many times, the location is amazing, right in the heart of Venice in 2 steps from San Marco in quiet alleyway. The room is small as mostly in Venice but cute and contains almost all you need.
What could be improved: Due to Numa group rules they don’t change towels and don’t clean room during your stay, which is fine for 1-2 nights but we stayed 6 nights and for such “long” stays it would be good to get clean towels and linens at least once. However we asked the girl at the reception and she was ok to give us clean towels.
The yard is under construction and the workers come under your windows early in the morning. It wasn’t a problem for us but keep in mind if you like to sleep longer than 8 am.Chelsea from United States – 22 October 2024 (8/10)
The location of this property was amazing. Only a 6 minute walk to the Rialto ferry stop and we had a stunning view of the canals. It was very quiet at night. There was a nice cafe around the corner for a morning coffee and breakfast. Lots of restaurants and shopping as well.
What could be improved: There could have been more towel racks/ hangers in the bathroom.Sonja from Australia – 19 October 2024 (9/10)
Central location. Super cute and clean. Very friendly staff.
What could be improved: Room was a bit stuffy so we opened the windows but then got heaps of mozzies in the room.Lauren from United Kingdom – 13 July 2024 (8/10)
Location, very clean
What could be improved: Bathroom very small, once used shower it would then drip for hoursNarayanan from United States – 7 June 2024 (9/10)
Host Stefano was very helpful with timely response to questions. Check-in /out was a breeze. Size of the room was good.
What could be improved: Breakfast could have been better. Elevator is missing. Disappointed that there is no view since it is specifically mentionedMeera from United States – 15 March 2024 (9/10)
