Palazzetto Foscari Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Palazzetto Foscari in the Santa Croce district, you immediately understand why this place gets such incredible ratings. I mean, this four-star boutique hotel sits right in what locals consider the sweet spot of Venice — close enough to everything that matters, but tucked away from the tourist chaos that can honestly get overwhelming. The building itself is this beautifully restored Venetian palazzo that feels authentically historic without being stuffy about it.
The Perfect Venice Location
Here’s what I love about this spot — you’re actually in one of the highest-rated areas in Venice, and trust me, location here makes or breaks your entire experience. The Santa Croce neighborhood gives you that real Venetian neighborhood feel, where you’ll see locals doing their daily shopping and kids playing in the campos. You can walk to the Rialto Bridge in about ten minutes, but you’re also close to the train station, which honestly saves you from dragging luggage through endless narrow streets and over bridges. Couples especially seem to get this — they’ve rated the location 9.9, and I totally understand why.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in had this perfect balance of Venetian character and modern comfort that’s actually pretty hard to find in Venice. You know what impressed me most? The attention to detail in preserving original architectural elements while making sure everything works perfectly. The windows opened onto a quiet courtyard, which meant I could sleep peacefully without earplugs — something you definitely can’t take for granted in this city. The bathroom was compact but cleverly designed, and the bed was genuinely comfortable, not just “good for Venice” comfortable.
Exploring the Neighborhood
What really sets this area apart is how it feels like you’re staying in a real neighborhood rather than a tourist zone. There’s this fantastic local bacaro just around the corner where Venetians actually go for their evening spritz — no tourist menus in sight. The morning walk to get coffee becomes part of your routine, and you start recognizing the same faces at the local shops. It’s that kind of authentic Venice experience that gets harder to find every year, honestly.
Why Guests Love It
The combination of that 9.6 overall rating and the near-perfect location score really tells the story here. This isn’t just about having a nice place to sleep — it’s about being positioned to experience Venice the way it’s meant to be experienced. The staff clearly understands what travelers need, from local recommendations that go beyond the obvious tourist spots to practical help navigating the city. When couples rate the location 9.9 for romantic trips, they’re recognizing something special about how this hotel lets you fall into the rhythm of Venetian life rather than just observing it from the outside.

Spotlessly clean. The staff were superb. Catalina and the team run this place better than a 5 star hotel. Well worth every penny. The breakfast is fantastic. The views are incredible. We will be backcountry and I’m sending clients to stay here in the future.😁✌️❤️🤘
What could be improved: I don’t own it😞 nothing to complain about.Jenna from United States – 12 September 2024 (10/10)
It's such a beautiful location! Right on the Grand Canal at the Pointe Scalzi, close to the train station, and an easy spot to walk anywhere in less than 15 minutes. The staff were fabulous hosts, the breakfast each morning was delicious, and our room was bright with an amazing view.

Absolutely beautiful decorated. Luxury at its finest.
What could be improved: Key to the bathroom is a huge problem. Better to have another system or different lock. Also it would be better if you can lock the bathroom from the inside also.Helena from Finland – 3 August 2024 (10/10)
Our honeymoon visit was magnificent. The suite and livingroom looks absolutely amazing. All the city attractions are near. The view from the hotel is to the beautiful Ponte degli Scalzi Bridge and Grand Canal. We also had a very nice suprise from the staff waiting in our room, we enjoyed it a lot. Brenno was super nice and warm host, thank you.
