The bed was massive, with linens that felt like they were ironed by angels, and the bathroom had this rain shower that blasted away the day’s grime (though, fair warning, the hot water takes a second to kick in—classic old building quirk). Breakfast was served in this cozy courtyard—fresh cornetti, local cheeses, and coffee strong enough to wake the dead—but it’s not some massive buffet; more intimate, which I appreciated, especially in quieter off-season months like April when you might have the place to yourself. Oh, and noise-wise? Santa Croce is blissfully low-key at night; no gondoliers belting out arias till dawn like over in San Marco. That said, if you’re a light sleeper, pack earplugs for the occasional church bell—San Stae’s right nearby, and it chimes like it’s auditioning for a movie.

  Staying at Palazzo Bonvicini felt like living in a palace! We were amazed to find an elevator in a historic Venetian building that took us right to our apartment. The floors and ceilings are preserved historical treasures, and the entire space was spotlessly clean. The kitchen was exceptional, with top-notch cookware and dishes. Every morning, we woke up feeling like we were in a dream. The washer/dryer combo made laundry super convenient, and Marcus, who welcomed us, was incredibly kind. We truly hope to return one day!

  Fabulous style as historical palazzo. Could not be better, more comfortable and cleaner! Absolutely superb. The bed was super comfortable, pillows as well. The linens were fresh en super soft. The host is super reactive in communication and very supportive. The appartement was super functional.
