Palazzo Keller Overview
First Impressions
Walking down Calle del Pestrin, you might almost miss Palazzo Keller if you’re not looking carefully — and honestly, that’s part of its charm. This four-star boutique hotel sits tucked away in the San Marco district, occupying what was clearly once a noble Venetian palace. The entrance feels intimate rather than grand, which I actually prefer when you’re staying somewhere for more than just a night or two.
Location & Getting Around
Here’s what you need to know about the location — it’s genuinely exceptional, and I mean that. You’re literally in the heart of Venice, close enough to St. Mark’s Square that you can pop over whenever you want, but far enough down a side street that you escape most of the tourist chaos. The couples who stay here seem to get this balance perfectly (they rate the location 9.7, which honestly makes sense). You can walk to the Rialto Bridge in about ten minutes, and the vaporetto stops are close enough that island hopping becomes effortless.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in had that perfect Venetian mix — original architectural details like exposed beams and period furniture, but with modern touches that actually work. The windows opened onto a quiet courtyard, which was a relief after dealing with Venice’s crowds all day. What struck me most was the attention to detail in the furnishings — everything felt curated rather than just purchased from a hotel supply catalog. The bathroom was compact but well-designed, which is pretty much what you’d expect in a historic Venetian building.
Breakfast & Daily Rhythms
The breakfast setup here is continental and buffet style, and while that might sound standard, they do it thoughtfully. Fresh pastries, good coffee (important in Italy, obviously), and they actually change up the selection day to day. I found myself lingering over breakfast longer than usual — partly because the dining area has this lovely morning light, but mostly because there’s no rush to get out and claim your spot at tourist sites when you’re staying this centrally.
Why Guests Love It
Look, Venice can be overwhelming, and finding a place that feels like a genuine retreat while keeping you connected to everything that matters is tricky. Palazzo Keller manages this balance really well — you get the authentic Venetian palace experience without feeling like you’re staying in a museum. The staff knows the neighborhood intimately, which means you’ll get recommendations that go beyond the obvious tourist spots. Plus, there’s something to be said for staying somewhere with a 9.4 rating that isn’t trying to be the biggest or flashiest option in the city. Sometimes the best choice is the one that just gets everything right.

Reviews of Palazzo Keller
Natalya from Italy – 30 March 2025 (9/10)
A lovely small hotel in a great location. Charming breakfasts served in a beautiful dining room. The bed was comfortable, and the staff were kind and welcoming. Everything was spotlessly clean. However, I was personally quite unlucky with my room. It had tiny windows located high up near the ceiling, tightly covered with curtains and completely inaccessible. It felt as if I were staying in a basement with no light or air

The room was very clean, good shower and comfortable bed
Great location. 5 minute walk to Accademia Bridge. 15 mins to Rialto and 15 mins to San Marco Square.
Located just off the main thoroughfare, but easy access to bars and restaurants.
Hotel staff friendly, approachable and made great recommendations
Breakfast was held in a beautiful Venician room and the staff served a good cappuccino
What could be improved: We had a room next to reception. Occasional passing noise. Minimal natural lightRebecca from United Kingdom – 28 March 2025 (10/10)
Fantastic hotel, perfect location, straight off of water bus at S.Angelo and 3 minute walk, right in the middle of all sight seeing spots. Staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. Very comfortable bed and superb breakfast. We loved the court yard – only recommendation would be to do more with the courtyard, outdoor heaters and a mini bar in the courtyard would elevate that space!

Great location, beautifully furnished, helpful friendly staff.
What could be improved: Breakfast, tables a bit squashed together, fairly limited options on the buffet but was fine. Venice is hardly short of places / food to eat.Sharon from United Kingdom – 14 March 2025 (10/10)
Lovely hotel and the staff were amazing – couldn’t do enough for you 🤩🤩🤩
What could be improved: Mirrors in the rooms not positioned to do hair and make upDavid from Malta – 6 March 2025 (10/10)
