Palazzo Veneziano – Venice Collection Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Palazzo Veneziano – Venice Collection along the Fondamenta delle Zattere, you immediately understand why this four-star property has such devoted fans. The building itself feels authentically Venetian — none of that over-the-top tourist trap vibe you get at some places. It’s positioned right on the waterfront in Dorsoduro, which honestly is my favorite sestiere in Venice. You’re away from the crushing crowds of San Marco, but still close enough to everything that matters. The location strikes that perfect balance between tranquility and accessibility that makes Venice so magical.
The Dorsoduro Advantage
Here’s what I love about staying in this neighborhood — you get to live like an actual Venetian for a few days. The Zattere promenade stretches right outside your door, perfect for morning walks or evening aperitivos while watching boats drift by. You’re literally a five-minute walk from the Peggy Guggenheim Collection, and the Accademia Bridge is close enough that you can pop over to San Marco whenever you want. But honestly? You might find yourself spending more time just wandering the quieter canals around here. The neighborhood offers galleries, local wine bars, and authentic Venetian culture that most tourists never discover.
The Room Experience
I mean, let’s talk about those beds — they weren’t kidding about the comfort factor. After days of walking on stone streets and climbing countless bridge steps, sinking into one of these beds feels like a small miracle. The room have that elegant Venetian style without being stuffy about it. You know what I really appreciated? The attention to soundproofing. Venice can get surprisingly noisy with all the boat traffic and late-night revelers, but once you close the door, it’s genuinely peaceful. The furnishings blend contemporary comfort with traditional Venetian aesthetics perfectly.
Morning Fuel
The breakfast setup here actually works really well — they’ve got both continental and buffet options, so whether you’re the type who just grabs a cornetto and espresso or someone who needs a proper spread before tackling the Doge’s Palace, you’re covered. I particularly liked that they source some local pastries rather than just doing the standard hotel fare. The dining area overlooks the water, which makes even a quick breakfast feel special. Fresh pastries and quality coffee set the tone for exploring the city each day.
Why Guests Love It
Look, couples absolutely rave about this place, and after staying here, I get it. There’s something romantic about the location that doesn’t feel forced or manufactured. You can walk hand-in-hand along the Zattere at sunset, duck into a bacaro for cicchetti, then come back to a genuinely comfortable base. The staff seems to understand that people come to Venice for the experience, not just a place to sleep — they’re helpful without being intrusive. Plus, with a 9.3 rating, you know you’re not taking a gamble on quality. It’s one of those places where everything just works the way it should.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Palazzo Veneziano. Communication with the staff was fantastic, both on Booking.com and in person. After a glitch in the system when upgrading our room, we were offered an upgrade free of charge due to the inconvenience of having to change rooms after one night – this was really appreciated.
The location was great, in a quieter area of Venice but within walking distance of all the sites.Josette from Malta – 2 April 2025 (9/10)
