Pesaro Palace Overview

First Impressions

Walking down the narrow Calle Ca’ D’Oro in Cannaregio, you might almost miss Pesaro Palace if you’re not paying attention — but honestly, that’s part of its charm. This four-star boutique hotel sits quietly in one of Venice’s most authentic neighborhoods, away from the tourist chaos around San Marco. The entrance feels understated in that elegant Venetian way, and you immediately sense you’ve found something special that most visitors never discover.

Location & Neighborhood

Here’s what I love about staying in Cannaregio — you’re actually living like a local. The Ca’ D’Oro vaporetto stop is literally around the corner, which means you can reach any part of Venice in minutes, but when you come home in the evening, you’re in a real neighborhood where people hang their laundry and chat with neighbors. The famous Ca’ D’Oro palace (the “Golden House”) is practically next door, and I mean, couples absolutely rave about this area — they’ve rated the location 9.5 out of 10, which honestly doesn’t surprise me at all.

The Room Experience

You know what really impressed me? The beds are genuinely comfortable — and I’m someone who usually struggles to sleep well in hotels. The room I stayed in had that perfect balance of Venetian character without feeling like you’re sleeping in a museum. The windows open onto the canal (well, depending on which room you get), and there’s something magical about falling asleep to the gentle lapping of water instead of traffic noise. The bathrooms are modern but respectful of the building’s historic bones, if that makes sense.

Breakfast & Dining

The breakfast setup here actually surprised me — they’ve got everything from a proper full English to Italian pastries and American options, all served buffet-style. I appreciated that they didn’t try to be too fancy; it’s just good, solid food to start your day. The restaurant area has these lovely canal views, and honestly, sitting there with your coffee while watching the early morning boat traffic is worth the stay alone. They seem to understand that breakfast in Venice should feel special without being pretentious.

Why Guests Love It

What really sets Pesaro Palace apart is how it manages to feel both authentically Venetian and genuinely comfortable. You’re not sacrificing modern amenities for atmosphere — you get both. The staff knows the neighborhood inside and out, so they’ll point you toward the little bacaro where locals actually drink, not the tourist traps. Plus, with that 9.5 location score, you’re perfectly positioned to explore Venice properly while having a peaceful retreat to return to. It’s the kind of place that makes you feel like you’ve discovered a secret, even though you’re staying in one of the world’s most visited cities.

Hotel in Venice reservations spike before Redentore fireworks when the lagoon fills with floating dinners.

  • Oshino-san from France – 7 March 2025 (9/10)

Very handy location in Venice, cute and beautiful garden in front, delicious breakfast with plenty of options. The interior of the pallazzio is well decorated and the common areas and view on the grand canal are superb.
Bed (in suite) was huge (and this is also the case in regular rooms, it seems).

What could be improved: Tiny details that did not hinder our stay in the least but some equipment were getting old and the shower was leaking a bit outside, even with doors completely shut. It was a bit annoying to have to choose between plugging the phone or the bed light near the bed.
