Residence Ca’ Foscolo Overview
First Impressions
Walking through the narrow streets of Castello to find Residence Ca’ Foscolo feels like you’re following a treasure map — and honestly, that’s exactly what you’re doing. This four-star property sits right on Campo della Fava, which is one of those perfect little squares that makes you stop and think “this is why I came to Venice.” The building itself has that weathered Venetian elegance you can’t fake, with those classic shuttered windows that look like they’ve been watching gondoliers pass by for centuries.
The Heart of Venice
You know what’s brilliant about this location? You’re actually in the real Venice, not the tourist bubble around San Marco. I mean, the Rialto Bridge is just a few minutes’ walk away, but you’re tucked into this authentic neighborhood where locals still hang their laundry from windows and kids play football in the campos. The location score of 9.9 isn’t just numbers — couples especially seem to get it, rating it a perfect 10 for romantic getaways. From here, you can wander to St. Mark’s Square when you want the grand spectacle, then retreat back to your quiet corner when the crowds get overwhelming.
Your Venetian Apartment
The room I stayed in felt more like a carefully curated Venetian apartment than a typical hotel space. There’s something about the way they’ve preserved the original architectural details while adding modern comfort that just works. And those beds — well, there’s a reason this place gets rave reviews for sleep quality. After spending days walking on uneven stone streets and climbing countless bridge steps, sinking into one of these beds feels like a small miracle. The furnishings have that lived-in elegance that makes you want to curl up with a book and a glass of Prosecco.
Morning Rituals
Breakfast here leans properly Italian, which means you’re getting real espresso and pastries that actually taste like something. None of that international buffet nonsense — this is about starting your day the way Venetians do. I loved stepping out onto Campo della Fava in the morning with my coffee, watching the neighborhood wake up around the ancient wellhead in the center of the square. There’s a little local bakery just around the corner where you can grab extra cornetti if you’re still hungry, and the morning light hitting the palazzo facades is absolutely perfect for photos.
Why Guests Love It
With a 9.4 rating, this place clearly gets something right that bigger hotels miss. It’s that balance between authentic Venetian character and actual comfort — you’re not sacrificing modern amenities to feel like you’re living in a museum. The staff understands that Venice can be overwhelming, so they’re genuinely helpful with directions and recommendations without being pushy. Plus, being in Castello means you can experience Venice like someone who actually lives here, not just someone passing through with a selfie stick. When you’re staying at Ca’ Foscolo, you’re not just visiting Venice — you’re temporarily becoming part of it.

Reviews of Residence Ca’ Foscolo
Carlo from United Kingdom – 11 March 2025 (8/10)
The apartment was spacious and well equipped. The building was ideally located close to the Rialto boat stop, easily accessible from the airport and the station, while Piazza S. Marco was only a short walk away. There were lots of shops and eateries in the vicinity.
What could be improved: The apartment was on the third floor (66 steps) which, when you are getting on in age and after a long day of sightseeing, was challenging. Ask for an apartment on a lower floor.Barbara from United Kingdom – 11 March 2025 (10/10)
Fantastic location, literally 3 minutes from the Rialto bridge. Lots of lovely restaurants within 5 mins walking distance. And somehow it's really quiet at night 👍 The apartment was huge and had absolutely everything we needed. Real attention to detail, coffee pods restocked every day, lovely toiletries in the bathroom and milk, water and biscuits on arrival. Communication in the run up to our stay was excellent, really detailed instructions on how to get there from the airport and a lovely welcome when we checked in. Cannot recommend this place enough!
