Hotel Description
You know, the first time I stumbled upon Rialto Suite 707, I was weaving through those narrow calle in San Polo after hopping off the vaporetto at Rialto Mercato – honestly, it’s the best stop if you’re lugging bags, way less chaotic than the main bridge side. The address is right there on San Polo 707, tucked into one of those classic Venetian buildings with the faded frescoes and iron balconies that scream old-world charm without trying too hard. I mean, Venice is all about that labyrinth vibe, but this spot? It’s smack in the middle of the action yet somehow feels like a quiet hideaway. Walking up, you catch the salty whiff of the canal mixed with fresh bread from the bakery around the corner on Calle della Madonnetta – that’s where I grabbed my morning cornetto every day, by the way. Check-in was a breeze; the host met me at the door with a glass of prosecco (a nice touch, especially after navigating the crowds), and it’s not one of those massive hotels with a lobby full of tourists – more like a boutique suite setup, intimate and personal. Oh, and fair warning: no elevators in these historic spots, so pack light if you’re on an upper floor; my calves got a workout climbing those creaky wooden stairs, but the view from up there made it worth it.
What really sets Rialto Suite 707 apart – and yeah, it’s got that solid 4-star feel with an 8.9 rating that actually holds up – is how it blends modern comforts into this ancient shell. My room (well, suite, really) overlooked a tiny courtyard where you could hear the distant hum of gondolas on the Grand Canal, but without the constant boat traffic noise that plagues spots closer to San Marco. The bed was plush, like sinking into a cloud after a day of pounding pavement, and the kitchenette? A godsend for whipping up a quick pasta with ingredients from the Rialto Market – I mean, why eat out every meal when you can snag fresh squid and artichokes just steps away? It’s got all the little details travelers crave: strong Wi-Fi (surprising in these thick-walled buildings), a rainfall shower that blasts away the humidity, and even a washer-dryer combo, which saved me during that rainy spell in May when everything got damp. Sure, the space is cozy – sort of compact if you’re traveling with a group – and the neighborhood can get lively at night with folks spilling out from osterias on Campo San Polo, but that’s Venice for you; earplugs helped, and honestly, it added to the authentic buzz. I loved popping down to Cicchetti bars like All’Arco for a quick spritz; it’s just a five-minute stroll, and you feel like a local dodging the tour groups.
All in all, if you’re chasing that real Venetian immersion without the overpriced glamour of the big chains, Rialto Suite 707 is a gem – especially in shoulder seasons like early spring or fall, when the crowds thin out and you can actually hear the water lapping at night. It’s not perfect; the lack of on-site parking isn’t an issue since cars are a myth here anyway (just water taxis or feet), but if you’re sensitive to stairs or need absolute silence, maybe look elsewhere. Still, I left feeling like I’d unlocked a secret corner of the city – you know, the kind where you sip coffee on your balcony watching laundry flap in the breeze. Worth every euro, I’d say, for anyone wanting to live like a Venetian rather than just visit.

Stunning apartment a stone's throw from the Rialto Bridge. The lady who looks after the hotel is so lovely! They have a great system for late check-in and can keep your luggage for the day when you check out. Without telling me, they gave me an upgrade – it was such a nice surprise to come into this huge, cosy suite with multiple rooms and a gigantic comfy bed! Much appreciated, thank you 🙏
What could be improved: Nothing I didn't like (except leaving!)Allan from United States – 13 March 2025 (9/10)

What could be improved: No power outlet in the bathroomMichael from Germany – 12 March 2025 (9/10)
Spacious and with taste renovated Apartment with 2 rooms, a comfortable bed in the bedroom and 1 big wall-mounted folding bed, bright (modern Ceiling-LEDs), ground floor, modern bathroom, fridge filled with water and drinks (usual prices), little kitchen… Nespresso machine with many capsules….and very kind and helpful hosts. A video was helpful to get in in the night. We enjoyed our 5 days/nights very much.
What could be improved: in the early morning about 5 the food-transportation next doors to the restaurants is sometimes a bit noisy … but generally it is calm, because located in a side street.
