Hotel Description
I remember stumbling upon rialto1082 almost by accident last spring—well, not really by accident, since I’d booked it based on a friend’s tip, but you know how Venice can feel like a maze even with a map app glued to your hand. It’s tucked away on Calle Luganegher in the San Polo district, just a quick five-minute wander from the Rialto Bridge, which is buzzing with those fresh produce markets in the morning (honestly, grab some fruit there for breakfast—it’s way better than hotel continental stuff). I arrived via vaporetto from Santa Lucia station, dodging the tourist throngs on the Grand Canal, and suddenly you’re in this quieter alley where the air smells faintly of saltwater and espresso from the little cafés nearby. Check-in was a breeze; the owner— this chatty guy named Marco, I think—greeted me like an old pal, handing over a massive iron key (classic Venice touch) and pointing out the best route to avoid the midday crowds heading to San Marco. No elevator, mind you, so if you’ve got heavy bags, brace yourself for those steep stairs—it’s an old building, after all, but that just adds to the charm.
What really won me over was how the place feels like a genuine slice of Venetian life, not some polished chain hotel. My room was on the second floor, overlooking a narrow canal where you could hear the occasional gondolier humming in the evenings—sort of romantic, though it gets a bit echoey at night if you’re a light sleeper (earplugs helped me). The decor’s simple but cozy: exposed wooden beams, crisp white linens that actually smelled fresh, and a tiny balcony where I sipped cheap prosecco watching the sunset paint the water orange. Breakfast is served in this sunny courtyard—nothing fancy, just croissants, yogurt, and strong coffee—but it’s included and beats the overpriced spots by the bridge. You’re steps from hidden gems like the Frari Church (go early to beat the lines) or that hole-in-the-wall bacaro on Campo San Polo for cicchetti and spritz. I mean, parking’s a non-issue since cars don’t exist here, but if you’re lugging luggage, the hotel’s right near the Rialto vaporetto stop, which makes life easier. One minor gripe: the Wi-Fi can be spotty in the rooms (better in the lobby), but hey, you’re in Venice—put the phone down and explore.
All in all, for a 3-star spot with that impressive 9.1 rating, rialto1082 punches way above its weight. It’s not glitzy, but that’s the point—staying here feels authentic, like you’re crashing at a local’s place rather than a tourist trap. If you’re visiting in shoulder season like April or October, it’s even better; fewer crowds mean you can actually hear the church bells without the din. I’d go back in a heartbeat—honestly, it’s the kind of hidden find that makes you feel like you’ve unlocked the real Venice, away from the selfie sticks and souvenir shops. Just book ahead; word gets around fast.

Good location
Very good – Ms from Singapore – 30 June 2025 (8/10)
Accommodation was centrally located, very close to Rialto Bridge, and close to St Mark's Basilica and Doge's Palace.
It is easier to walk around as it is near Realto Market.
Accommodation is 2 min from Waterbus station. We took a water bus station from Venezia Santa Luchia. It is 15 min.
I would recommend it for a say here. It's overall very convenient
Lovely coffee n breakfast was served. Loved the hospitality overall.
What could be improved: Nothing as such. Just a small suggestion to have kettle for hot water. But not worries, just upstairs pantry has everything needed.Superb – Peter from Austria – 22 June 2025 (9/10)

This is a hidden gem, 2 minute walk to Rialto bridge, peaceful area and family run with the personal touch by host and staff, it’s truly perfect in every way, breakfast is as included and just right to set you up for the day. Very clean and inviting, would not have stayed anywhere else!

Perfect location.
What could be improved: All was perfect.Excellent location, wonderful hosts – Rhedyn from Australia – 14 May 2025 (10/10)
Beautiful room with very comfortable bed. The exposed beams on the ceiling and chandelier were both very charming touches! Excellent location with comfortable walking to/ from the Venezia Santa Lucia and Piazza San Marco. The hosts offer breakfast 8am-10am with many options of pastry, toast with meats and cheese, fruit, yogurt and cereal along with fruit juices, and the hosts even make coffee for you (delicious!). Close to many good bars and restaurants. The kind hosts made this a very enjoyable stay.
What could be improved: Our room was on the first floor, and with bars and restaurants near by it was a little loud outside, with the street noise carrying into the room. If you want to sleep early, I suggest some ear plugs. But this is only a very mild inconvenience which did not reduce how much I enjoyed my stay here.Comfortable, smooth, good location , good breakfast – Brenda from Puerto Rico – 25 April 2025 (10/10)
The location, the good response about the property. The kind of the personnel
What could be improved: They need more light in the stairs area because at night the stairs was darkIt was good trip. – Ali from Poland – 12 April 2025 (10/10)
The staff were very friendly and kind. The lady who cleaned our room was very cheerful, and the lady in the breakfast room was just as lovely. They made us feel very special.
What could be improved: Beds could be more comfy and wardrobe was broken.
