Rosa Salva Suites Overview
First Impressions
Walking into Rosa Salva Suites feels like stepping into someone’s elegant Venetian home — if that someone happened to have impeccable taste and a prime address in San Marco. The entrance is understated in that confident Italian way, where they don’t need to shout about being special because, well, they just are. This four-star property sits right at San Marco 984, and honestly, you can’t get much more central than this without actually sleeping in St. Mark’s Basilica itself.
Location That Actually Matters
Here’s the thing about Venice — location isn’t just about convenience, it’s about survival. You know how some hotels claim to be “centrally located” and then you’re still schlepping across three bridges with your luggage? Not here. Rosa Salva Suites earned that perfect 10.0 location score because you’re literally in the heart of everything that matters. St. Mark’s Square is a two-minute stroll, the Doge’s Palace is right there, and — this is key — you’re close enough to duck back to your room when the day-tripper crowds get overwhelming around midday.
The Suites Themselves
The accommodations here are what I’d call “Venetian sophisticated” rather than flashy modern. Each suite has character — think original beams, quality fabrics, and windows that actually open to let in that canal breeze (trust me, you’ll want that in summer). The spaces feel generous by Venice standards, which means you won’t be doing that awkward suitcase shuffle every time you need to move around. What really impressed me was the attention to sound insulation — Venice can get surprisingly noisy with all those late-night wanderers, but these walls do their job.
The Venice Experience
Rosa Salva Suites gets something that a lot of Venice hotels miss — they understand that you’re not just booking a bed, you’re buying into the whole Venetian fantasy. The staff actually knows the neighborhood, so when you ask about avoiding tourist traps or finding that perfect bacaro for an evening spritz, they’ll point you toward places locals actually go. I mean, being this close to everything means you can experience Venice at different times of day — early morning when the light hits the campanile just right, or late evening when the crowds thin out and the city becomes magical again.
Why Guests Love It
That 9.3 rating isn’t just numbers — it reflects what happens when a hotel gets the fundamentals right without trying too hard. Couples especially seem to fall for this place, and I get it. There’s something romantic about being able to wander St. Mark’s Square at sunset, then slip back to your suite without the usual Venice logistics nightmare. The combination of that unbeatable location, thoughtfully designed spaces, and staff who actually care about your experience creates one of those stays where everything just works. You’re not fighting the city or your accommodations — you’re just enjoying Venice the way it’s meant to be enjoyed.
Hotels near me in Venice offer water taxi moorings, Basilica queues, and gondola lessons steps away.

The suites provide great space for our family to spread out, the location was great – close to San Marco and Rialto, the staff were very helpful and the bakery/ coffee shop in the Rosa Salva Hotel is also good.

Very nice apartment in Venice. It has a main sitting area, which also includes the kitchenette, and a pull out sofa bed that converts into 2 singles beds. There is a separate bedroom with a queen-sized bed. The place met our needs for our family of 4. I loved the shower! It also had a very effective air conditioner which was welcomed after it was mid-90's outside. Location was very good – quite close to St. Marks Square – and also convenient to lots of restaurants. We arrived into Venice by train and took the water bus to Rialto station stop. From there, it was 5-10 min walk to the hotel through the streets (best to use your favorite map app to get there).
What could be improved: The check in location is not the same location as the apartment. It's in a separate building, just around the corner, but something to note.Robert from United States – 9 June 2024 (10/10)
We stayed in a two bedroom, two bath apartment at the Rosa Salva Suites around the corner from the Rosa Salva Hotel. The staff, facilities and location were excellent. We got the keys from the hotel office where a staff member showed us to the apartment while helping us with our luggage. The apartment was exactly as presented in the photos including the private roof top deck. Breakfast was not included, but the hotel offered a discount at the adjoining restaurant. Our two largest suitcases did not make it on to our connecting flight in London and didn't arrive until the following day. The hotel manager was kind enough to receive our suitcases and had them delivered to our apartment while we were sightseeing. We didn't lose a minute of time in Venice because of the manager and his staff. Thank you all, once again.
We were very happy with the accommodations and our entire stay and highly recommend the Rosa Salva Suites.
What could be improved: There was nothing we didn't like about our stay.Indira from Indonesia – 23 May 2024 (9/10)
It’s very strategic, very close to Piazza San Marco, Rialto Bridge, restaurants, shopping area, gondola stop, and vaporetto stop, so you can explore Venice easily. Just be ready if you bring heavy luggages, because you have to climb up 2 stairs when you arrive but only 1 stairs when you want to ride alilaguna to the airport. In summary, it’s very close to everywhere.
The property is very clean, have complete amenities and kitchen facilities, spacious room, comfortable bed. The staffs gave excellent service.
What could be improved: Suggestion for improvement : maybe you can provide a porter service in a more affordable prices.Baker from United Kingdom – 17 April 2024 (9/10)
The apartment was really comfortable. Serviced room with tea/coffee and some small treats everyday helped but we enjoyed eating out. It's really central and easy to get around to all the major attractions. The hotel is always there for any requests or advice on a 24×7 basis. It's less than 50m away. It was just easy. Great stay if you just need something nice to go back to after a full day of sightseeing or just to chill and relax with some. The kids were in a different room to us with their own TV if you need some separation time. We always take a firestick away with us (so we could get all the UK TV options) and I used my mobile as the WiFi was poor. It wouldn't stop me from going there again.
What could be improved: The WiFi was poor.Kate from United Kingdom – 23 August 2023 (9/10)
The entrance to the apartment block was very sophisticated and stylish.
The room decor and design was very contemporary.
The air con was sensational!
What could be improved: No tea towels to wash the dishes by the sink.Pei from Singapore – 8 July 2023 (9/10)
The facilities, the cleanliness
Amy from Australia – 29 June 2023 (10/10)
This property was a little gem in the alleyways of Venice! We loved our stay. It’s only a few minutes walk to the San Marco and Rialto in a quiet street close to all the action. The apartment itself is new, immaculately clean and a great size. We cannot fault our stay.
What could be improved: Nothing! Highly recommend.James from Australia – 19 May 2023 (10/10)
