Hotel Description
You know, the first time I stumbled upon San Marco Suite 755, I was weaving through those narrow Venetian alleys after hopping off the vaporetto at Rialto – honestly, it’s a bit of a trek if you’ve got luggage, but that’s Venice for you, right? The address is Calle Regina, tucked right in the heart of San Marco, and let me tell you, it’s one of those spots that feels like a secret even though it’s smack in the middle of everything. I mean, you’re just a five-minute wander from St. Mark’s Square, but without the constant buzz of tour groups spilling out everywhere. I arrived in the late afternoon during shoulder season – October, when the crowds thin out and the air has that crisp, salty tang from the canals – and the check-in was a breeze. The owner, this friendly local guy named Marco (fitting, huh?), greeted me at the door with a quick espresso and some tips on avoiding the overpriced gelato traps nearby. The building itself is one of those classic Venetian palazzos, all faded ochre walls and wrought-iron balconies, and stepping inside felt like slipping into someone’s well-loved home rather than a sterile hotel lobby. No elevator, mind you – it’s an old place, so those steep stairs might be a workout if you’re hauling heavy bags, but hey, it adds to the charm.
What really won me over, though, was the suite itself – spacious for a 3-star spot, with these high ceilings and original wooden beams that creak just a little when the wind picks up off the lagoon. My room overlooked a quiet side canal (not the Grand one, but a sleepy little rio where you might spot a gondolier practicing early mornings), and the mornings started with the distant chime of bells from San Zaccaria church, mixing with the aroma of fresh cornetti from the bakery on nearby Calle della Mandola. It’s got that lived-in feel: a small kitchenette with a stovetop that’s perfect for whipping up pasta from the market at Rialto (pro tip: go early to snag the best squid), and the bed was surprisingly comfy, with linens that smelled like they’ve been line-dried in the sun. Well, sort of – Venice humidity and all. Noise-wise, it’s peaceful at night, especially compared to the rowdier spots closer to Campo Santa Maria Formosa, but you might hear the occasional water taxi chugging by if your window’s open. And honestly, for the price, it’s a steal; I paid less than I’d expected for something this central, though I did notice the Wi-Fi can be spotty during peak hours – nothing a quick reset didn’t fix.
All in all, if you’re looking for that authentic Venice vibe without breaking the bank, San Marco Suite 755 is a gem – it’s got a 9.1 rating for a reason, you know? I’d recommend it to couples or solo travelers who want to feel immersed, maybe skip it if you’re traveling with kids or need ultra-modern perks like a gym. Just pack light, time your visits for quieter months like fall or spring to dodge the summer hordes, and you’ll leave feeling like you’ve uncovered a piece of the real city. Trust me, after a few days here, wandering back to the airport ferry felt like leaving an old friend’s place.

The location was lovely—a small apartment, but truly beautiful and very comfortable. Inside, it was extremely clean, and the position was fantastic. It was just a three-minute walk from Piazza San Marco. From the apartment, we could easily explore the city and reach some of the most beautiful sights in Venice within a few steps. The price seemed fair for the season we were traveling in. I am very happy with our stay. I had a great experience and found the apartment to be really convenient.
What could be improved: Regarding the staff and the property owners, they were all very kind, professional, and attentive. They always provided accurate information and were readily available for any needs. Their communication was precise, and they were both present and reliable throughout our stay. I truly appreciated their attentiveness and am very satisfied with the experience.Irina from Latvia – 12 February 2025 (9/10)
Everything, it was perfect for 5-night stay, it was enough space, kitchen had everything, glasses for wine and champagne, enough towels and great bathrobes, coffee machine. Everything we needed was there.
What could be improved: It was all perfect, but keep in mind that there is no lift, only stairs
Also, smart tv with YouTube would be nice, but in when in Venice; there is no time for that, explore the beauty of the town!
