Each apartment has its own character, which I found refreshing after staying in cookie-cutter hotel rooms elsewhere. The one I had featured original Venetian details — exposed beams, terrazzo floors, that sort of thing — mixed with modern updates that actually work. The beds deserve special mention here because, honestly, I slept better than I have in months. There’s something about the quiet of these residential streets at night, combined with really comfortable mattresses, that just works. The kitchen setup was more functional than I expected too — perfect for making morning coffee or storing those amazing pastries from the local bakery.

Daily Life & Practicalities

What I appreciated most was how the staff manages everything remotely but efficiently. Check-in was smooth, and when I had a question about the heating (this was in November), someone responded within an hour. The apartments feel private and independent, but you’re not left hanging if something goes wrong. Each location has its own personality — some overlook quiet canals, others face charming courtyards where you can hear neighbors chatting in Italian. It’s this authentic residential feel that you just can’t get in a regular hotel.

After spending several nights here, I get why this place scores so well with visitors. It’s not trying to be something it’s not — just well-maintained apartments in fantastic locations that let you live like a Venetian for a few days.   The huge bathrooms and the big bath were great. Its old style was nice and the neighbours friendly. We like how uncomplicated and easy the key handover was, we appreciated that a lot.
  
  What could be improved: We couldn’t leave any rubbish so we had to take all of our own rubbish from the bins- but I think maybe that’s just an Italy or Venice thing?

  The location was ideal, close to shops and cafes and only 8 min walk to St Lucia train station. We walked everywhere and it was only a short distance to the Rialto bridge. The apartment itself was lovely with views from 3 sides and a big long balcony, lots of light. The television had netflix installed so we were sorted for evening movies with the kids.
  
  What could be improved: The only thing was the detail around the refuge disposal, this isn't made clear in the information in the apartment, or given to us by the host on check in. Leaving the rubbish in the apartment leads to a €50 fine being imposed. (This is for every self rental in Venice). Ensure you get the location for leaving your bags of separated recycling and general waste. For us, this was a little plaza around the corner to be collected on a Tues or Thurs etc. – no problem when you know the score!

  Excellent interiors, near to Gugily. Very rich interiors. I recently had the pleasure of staying at this beautiful apartment, and it truly exceeded my expectations. The apartment is incredibly spacious, with large, comfortable bedrooms that offered plenty of space to relax. All the antique decoration really amazed us, lot of antique pieces are there.
  
  The bathroom was spotlessly clean and hygienic, which was a big plus for me. The kitchen was well-equipped, making it easy to prepare meals when we wanted to stay in.
  
  Overall, I highly recommend this villa for anyone looking for a peaceful and comfortable place to stay. Whether you’re visiting for a short getaway or a longer stay, this villa offers everything you need for a memorable experience.
  
  What could be improved: check in process to be changed, for check in process we have to go to zakarria… stay in Gugily, completely opposite directions from Pizalle Roma

  When we arrived in Venice for check in they offered us the two rooms in the hotel san zaccaria with American buffet breakfast as the apartment was getting renovated. We loved the hotel and the staff was very friendly. The lady who served us the breakfast was very nice and sweet lady. Location was very good everything was at walking distance.
  
  What could be improved: The hotel rooms was bit small there was kettle to make tea or coffee in the room. The tv was very small and was not smart tv.

  Absolutely amazing apartment, staff very helpful and friendly, perfect for us as a family with three children (one being only 4 years old). Cannot reccomend highly enough if your lucky to find available dates book it!!

  Fabulous location, right in the center of Venice but down a little alley and therefore 'private' and very, very quiet. Spacious. Great shower. Lots of outlets, lamps, chairs and small tables. It also has a private courtyard! The hotel staff was also terrific, super friendly and professional.
  
  What could be improved: The pillows were really flat and, since it has a full kitchen, it would be a nice courtesy to provide paper towels. And a cutting board.
